Hey,

I've been asked to review a couple of DVD authoring tools for my company and Scenarist is one of them.

I set out my project and linked all links to relevant menus & media, but I'm having problems setting my main menu as title menu and my chapter menu as Root. I go into Simulation window but it won't select it in the drop down window? Am I doing something wrong?

Also is it possible to put warnings before the menu comes up, menus that can't be skipped? And would this be the same process to put video before a menu?

Set your menu type whilst in the scenario editor. click the PGC then in the property browser change the menu ID.

To put a warning first - why not create a PGC with the warning cell and set the PGC Uops and Cell Uops that prevent forwarding (UOP#8). In your main menu set a pre-command to linkPGC (to link to the warning PGC).

When playing, the warning PGC will play the warning still (set still time =10 for 10s etc) first and disable forward scan, then the normal menu will continue.

A title menu can only exist in a language area in the VideoManager Domain. Did you set up your title menu in the VideoManager Domain?

Also the root menu (angle-, audio-,...) can only exist in the language area of the VTS.

No, since there was only one language (english) I thought it was not needed.

I tried setting the warning as a pre-command to my menu (obviously not set as title/root/1st play) but it just played the warning and wouldn't go on to the menu. I removed it and it went straight to the menu. This was last week, before your recommendations.
