DVDLab Pro v1.53

I have made a basic menu with backgnd pic and 6 separate lines of text. Each line is linked to 'Movie1', 'Movie2' etc... When simulating all lines are active and link to the right movie. Also after compile all the text lines work and link to the right movie when running the files from disk with CyberLink PowerDVD.

However. If i burn a DVD and try playing on a DVD player it skips some of the menu lines. This is not a highlight problem. In the example of the 6-line menu it skips one of the lines totally. Line 4 is highlighted, then i press down once and i'm at line 6.

I have tested on Pioneer DV-343 and a Denon, Sony and another crappy brand i don't remember the name of. This has also happened on two other DVD's i tried to make before. A Re-Compile does not solve the problem.

Thanks in advance...

this is because the number ordering is out of whack....look at your project for little numbers beside your links.

Thanks for your reply.

From what i can tell the numbering seem fine. The top line has the yellow 1 beside it, line two has a '2' etc ... to line six that has a '6'.

When i select the textlines they also display with red text under them that they link to the right movies.

This has happened once before too. Two links were defective. One was totally skipped. The other one was skipped only when browsing down. Skipping it and then pressing up would highlight it. I'm confused :)

In the menu editor of DVDLab you have a button "Show navigation links" on top.
Here you can switch on the display of the routing between the buttons.
Seems some of your navigation links are missing or wrong.

Sometimes it is better to switch off the auto function and to draw the links by hand.

BTW: You can test the links with the extendable arrow keypad on the right side of PowerDVD 6.

Thanks for the reply. Since yesterday i see that the problem also is with PowerDVD or the simulate menu in DVDLab when using the up/down arrows. Yesterday i used the mouse pointer and that was what made the links active.

Is there a maxlenght of a textline that is linked? I have "narrowed down" the problem i have to the lenght of the lines.

In the pic above the two lines with 6 and 7 words are skipped when using the up/down arrows in DVDLabs simulate function. In general all lines with more than 5 words are skipped.

I can reproduce this every time i try with textlines longer than 5 words...

Did you read my post?

I repeat: This is a common problem in DVDLab. The navigation links go wrong using short and long text lines in a mix.

Switch off the "Auto-Route" function and draw the navigation links by hand.

goonix is right....but you can avoid this by using an arrow by the choices....set it to invisible normal and it looks cool

Yeah, this is similar to what I do normally.
Place little arrows on the left side of the text lines.
Set them to invisible normal.
Draw the hotspot rectangles around the arrows and the text line.
Set the text lines to invisible selected.

But if you want only the text lines as buttons, then you have to draw the navigation links by hand.

I'm sorry goonix but seems i was way too busy trying to re-invent the wheel ;)

Manual linking works great.

Thanks for the help :)
