Hello,
I've been told that you can take the .vob file from a DVD disc and change the extension to .mpg so that it can be edited in Adobe Premiere. We have created some in-house DVDs at work and I would like to convert them to avi after editing them in Premiere, what is going to be a simple way to do it?
Thanks

Just read the rule 9 sticky and realised that I didn't comply. Apologies if I have annoyed anyone!!

first step in the right direction - if you now also changed the thread title it would be perfect !
just renamig the .vob files to .mpg is not necessarily a smart idea - if there's more than one PGC or even more than one audio and video stream in there your results might get screwed up badly...
there are some fine tools out there to extract the video and audio streams out of your dvd files correctly which you can then import in premiere
for starters you might want to take a look at dvddecrypter

in addition to killingspree's advice, i would also highly recommend using jsoto's tool "PgcDemux" (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=84778).
it really couldnt get any easier.
