I have a DVD which states on the packaging that it is for PC's only. I thought that I could use DVD shrink to convert it to play on my TV DVD player, but that did not work. The files on the DVD look the same as others I have seen, (.IFO, .BUP, .VOB) but when I put the the original or the shrunk version into my TV DVD all it says is NO PLAY. I do not like to watch movies on my PC! Does anyone know why it would only play on PC's and how I can get it to play from my TV DVD?

What kind of DVD is it? Is it a game or what? Sounds strange ...

@tinkertailer
Hi!
My guess is that you've purchased a "MiniDVD" - A DVD format burned to a CD.
Would you be good enough to post the EXACT filenames and filesizes for all files on the disc?
Does the original, purchased disc play on your PC?

It is a DVD movie (at least this is what it claims on the packaging) and it does play on my computer. It claims to be in a PAL 2 format woth 5.1 Dolby Digital. It contains the following files and sizes:

VTS_01_3.VOB 1,048,432 KB
VTS_01_4.VOB 520,790 KB

It's a full-sized DVD.
What is the Title and Region of the original, purchased DVD?

From what I can make out it looks like it is from Israel. The title is Ushpizin. It has English subtitles. It was part of a prize package; I believe it was purchased in the US.
I thought this would help remove any regional settings, but having limited experience with DVD's not sure how this is really done.
thanks for your help so far.

If you are in the US, your standalone playback difficulty is likely due to the fact that you are trying to play a PAL (or PAL2) DVD on an NTSC-only standalone DVD player.
Removing regional settings (Changing to "All regions" or "No region") does not alter the fact that such a standalone player cannot process PAL-format video.
Curiously, Amazon states that, "This title will be released on April 4, 2006"

setarip_old is correct. removing region coding will have no effect on a PAL dvd playing on a NTSC only standalone system. you would have to do a format conversion (which can be far from noob friendly if you need to include subs, menus etc) for it to work.
this process has been discussed many times on this board, and using the search will bring up many relevant threads which will get you started.
i also checked the Ushpizin Official Movie Site (http://www.ushpizin.com/) which also states that the dvd will not be released until 04.04.06, yet by your comments it would seem that you have an original copy ...

This is definitely an original version. I cracked the wrapper myself. The cover is in Hebrew with very little English with the exception of the big sticker on the wrapper that stated it was for PC only.
I noticed a link to the web site: 4u.nrg.co.il/ushpizin on the cover but this site is all in Hebrew as well. I went to the web site mentioned by Jel (thanks). It states Group sales are available in the US in several major cities as of October (?2005) I won this at the end of December 2005. I will see the organizer of the event tonight, but I am pretty sure it came from New York.
I will follow up on the threads for conversion as advised, if not successful will look at ordering the later release as it appears to be in English, but will look make sure it is not PAL 2.
thanks.

The cover is in Hebrew with very little English with the exception of the big sticker on the wrapper that stated it was for PC only.I'd speculate that, knowing that this DVD was being sent to the U.S. (NTSC format world) and knowing that this DVD is in PAL(2) format, the provider put the "PC-only" sticker on the package to ensure it wouldn't be thrown away after someone in the U.S. (unsuccessfully) tried to play it on a standalone DVD player...
