When certain dvds, that have the subtitle set to display by default, are played, my Samsung DVD player displays the primary subtitle, which then can be turned off via the player "info" menu ( ie player setup doesn't have an option to turn off permanently, just when disc is playing) And, of course, the disc menu can turn the titles to "none")

I'm doing a basic reauthor of such a disc using ifoedit to delete the playback of studio logo and FBI warnings. I know I could use Shrink to delete all the subs and unwanted audio, but is there another way to NOT have the subtitle displayed by default when disc is loaded ? Thanks

Yes, here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=45440) is how to do it. Good luck :)

Thanks CoNS...I did a search first and that thread didn't come up. And a "sticky" no less !

Edit: This came up because this is one of the few movies that I ahve that fit onto a DVD5 without any compression or deletions, so the subs were left alone.

To clarify something. This original disc that I'm backing up in this case, in fact does not display the subtitle when loaded. I had burned the untouched movie to a +RW after using DVD Decrypter to rip to my HD. So, it appears that the DVD Decrypter process somehow changed the default to ON, which was originally OFF. I don't see anything in the "settings" that would affect it. Additionally, Lightning UK has stated that there are additional info when right clicking on the interface, however, I have never found any of these. Am I missing something ? Thanks

Edit #2: Ok, I'v read through the guides and it does seem like a pretty complex/tedious process just to turn subs on or off. Wouldn't it be a lot easier to just run it through Shrink ( to turn off) w/the subs deleted ?? No video processing involved and pretty quick compared to the Pgcedit/ifoedit methods
