hi all!
finallly successfully converted a dvd to 3 m2v files. now, how can i make nice small xvids from them? or are there othere "small" formats?

If you've converted your video to m2v files that implies you've managed to demultiplex the audio and video - so you have an m2v file for the video and an ac3 or mp2 (or various other formats) file for the audio. You can process and encode the m2v video using GordianKnot to preprocess then Xvid; and encode whatever audio you have using BeSweet. Then recombine them in VirtualDub or another AVI muxer.
