my friend's Samsung HT-TP75 home theatre system wont read a XVid encoded movie, the resolution of the movie is 1440x816, it is quite big, it is on two DVD disks, in .avi, each one is about 4.3GB, so the hole movie is 8.6 GB... the files its self are burned with nero with UDF file system, couse nero other wise wont let you burn bigger files then 2GB, so i am looking for some info on the Samsung HT-TP75, like what is the max resolution it can play, where can i download official or unofficial updates for the firmware, is it true that no DVD player can read the UDF file system. if someone is familiar with this, pld help.... if someone has links to somewhere that can help, pls send also. if someone is gonna say: :search: pls write to me the words i should use

Divx players are limited to DVD resolutions. Don't expect anything better than ~720x480 or maybe 854x480.

The real question is...what movie do you have at 1440x816? It's not a standard resolution by any means, and no television supports it.

it is encoded from digital TV (HDTV).... i can play it in my computer with no problems:)) just a little bit scrolling but i can live with that... the quality though, is EXTREMEEEE i can see the hairs growing on the russle crow's beard:)) (the movie is GLADIATOR btw) the movie is Xvid not DivX

i guess the player doesn't like to decode anything that large in mpeg-4.

try do a few test encodes with just a couple of minutes at different sizes, and see what's the biggest you can get away with. maybe the player doesn't have enough juice for that kind of thing.

remember it's not a computer (well, it is, but not in the sense that you can make it do anything you want).
