We use Scenarist to produce our DVDs and have up untill now used Scenarist to master to DLT. We have recently however purchased Gear Pro Mastering edition, with the intention of doing all our disc and tape based mastering. My problem is with dual layer projects. When starting a dual layer Gear project, I am asked for the break point in sectors ranging between 960000 and 2086912. I am unable to find this information anywhere in the files output by Scenarist. If someone could point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful.

During multiplexing (when you create your Video_TS etc etc), Scenarist should let you know the breakpoint's sector address. It appears in the information window.

Thank you but the figure provided during multiplexing is only a 6 digit number (255921). Whereas Gear requires a number between 960000 and 2086912. So no dice I'm afraid.

I have managed to get Scenarist to display the Layer break sector. It appears that the information is only included in the discinfo.ifo when constructing an image file. The information is missing when producing a video_ts folder. Does anyone know of a reason for this?

Be aware that Gear sometimes does weird things, especialy when working with pretty much stretched out discs (in terms of used disc space). On numerous ocasions when I tried to use Gear's spreadsheet to calculate layer break sector I always overshoot it even tough the disc had quite a fgew megs left.. And while I really liked many features of Gear that's the main reson I never spent any money on it, only used the trial (tough if you can find out what's wrong with it - or my methods :D - I'd be happy to know it ;))
