I am using nero vision express to make a dvd by adding video files. On my PC the quality of the videos are great, but when I burn them onto the dvd, the quality is horrible and is very very pixley and squiggly. Is there a way to fix this? I closed everything down and didnt touch my computer while it was burning.. so i'm not sure whats wrong.:(

try slowing down the burn speed on your dvd burner

Hi!

If your videos are .AVIs or MPEGs, you might want to try the following, instead of using Nero Vision Express:

One set of procedures (other posters may/probably will suggest alternative methods) would be:

1) Use "TMPGEnc" (or "TMPGEncPlus") to convert the .AVI (DivX-compressed or otherwise) or MPEG file to compliant MPEG2-for-DVD format - Use "TMPGEnc's" DVD wizard/template to accomplish this

2) Use "TMPGEnc DVD Author" (a different program than "TMPGEnc") to easily create the required additional DVD files and structure (and chapters and a menu, if you wish)
You can obtain a FULLY functional free 30 day trial version of this commercial program at:

www.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/tda.html

**If the combined filesize of the DVD "package" written to your hard drive is greater than 4.37Gb, use DVD Shrink (or similar) to compress

If your O/S is either Win2000 or WinXP, TMPGEnc DVD Author can also burn your DVD. Otherwise, use NERO to burn in "DVD-Video" mode
(As an alternative to "TMPGEnc DVD Author", you could use "DVDLab")

Let us know of your success ;>}

Just for future reference,....

When you're using Nero Vision there are a full set of options for adjusting the render quality of the final DVD-video. On the page entitled "Burn Options", click on the "more" button and you'll be able to select the "Video Options" dialogue. From there you can adjust quality, interlacing, bitrate, resolution, 1 pass or 2, audio type, etc.

The automatic (default) setting is designed for 2 hours of DVD-video (1 pass) on a single sided DVD-R/DVD+R.
