View Full Version : Determining Bitrate for Multiple "Main Movies"

Hi I'm having a problem with the DVD Lost Season 1. There are 4 episodes on the disc, and each reside in their own VTS (for example, VTS 1, 2, 3, 4, each have 1 episode in side them). I was just wondering is there an easy way to calculate the bitrate so that each episode will be considered as a "main movie" and be given the main movie bitrate? I primarily use Scenaid to calculate the bitrates automatically, but I *think* it only allows you to set one main VTS and the rest default as extras. Thanks

not really.. i think d3s7 is working on that.. you have to use the scenaid gui and keep tweaking the 'extra' bitrate until it matches the main bitrate.
on the occasions i do tv dvds i turn off scenaid doing the calcs.

For this situation I would use the dif4u bitrate calcs, which are very precise anyway. In dif4u you can set a treshold so that all episodes will be marked as main movie.

Yeah I ended up doing that in DIF4U but the problem lies within the fact that there is 600 MB of previews on the DVD, and the main menu of the DVD is 500 MB. I blanked out the previews with PCGEdit and was either going to run Numenu4u or Menushrink to shrink down the menu...the estimates from DIF4U would be off by a fair amount if I did both of these.
@Trahald
I never knew you could change the bitrate values in Scenaid for the extras...this should be a fairly easy workaround then. I'll just fool around with it until the bitrates for the main and extras are about equal. Thanks!

yeah that's an easy workaround. But if you preprocess the dvd. Reiso it and run it through dif4u it will be no problem either ;)
