need a divx/xvid player for work

Is there a player that will decode xvid/divx that doesn't need an install of either the codecs or the player. We have winxp.

Try VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/) or mplayer (http://ftp.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/win32-beta/). Both play DIVX/XVID out of the box. Notice that VLC has a built-in GUI while for mplayer it's usually an external program or an special build.
Media Player Classic (MPC) can also do that but requires some special settings (I personally never tried using it this way).
