Its a stupid question, so I will make this quick!!! I have 2 .sub files, and I want to join them.. thatīs it.... I can split a file into 2, but I canīt find a way to join 2 into 1...There are many different methods, here are four examples:

1. If you have the two movie files (or at least the first one) that the two subtitles files are originally made for, you can check the exact length (playback time) of the first movie file (you may use GSpot for this), and then use a text subtitle editor (Subtitle Workshop is a good choice) to add the playback time as a delay for all the subs in subtitle file no. 2. Then simply select all subtitles from the one file and copy them into the other subtitle file and you're done.

2. Use the "Join text subtitles" function in SubtitleCreator's File menu. However, this also requires that you know the playback time of the first one of the movie file.

3. If you have a set of existing bitmap subtitles from the DVD (in a SUP file), you can use this file for synchronizatíon of your two text subtitle files in SubtitleCreator. Load the two text subtitles using the join function, but without knowing the correct delay value and then use the tools in the Synchronize menu. Instead of a SUP file, you may use a text subtitle file containing all the synchronized subs for the movie (in a different language etc.).

4. You can use the DVD playback function in the main window of SubtitleCreator to synchronize the subtitles, by loading both text subtitle files with the join function and then finding the correct location for some of the subtitle lines.

Another question... its a stupid question 2... I am trying to put a subtitle into a DVD VOB files... I have the DVD, and the VOB and IFO files... and I am using PCGdemux... but I still canīt find out which IFO file I must use... cause I have the Video_TS.IFO... and the VTS_01_0.IFO... If you only have those two IFO files, then VTS_01_0.IFO is the file to load. The main movie is always located in a VTS. If there are more than one VTS, you can usually can spot the VTS containing the main movie by looking at the size of the VTS files (in a Windows Explorer window etc.). The largest VTS (usually split into 0.99 GB files) usually contains the main movie.

About #1, Subtitle Workship will not work for .sub files. It doesn't support VobSub format.. nor can you edit .sub files yourself. What you need is VobSub Joiner which comes bundled with the VobSub installation. But you will need to have the .idx files too.

unskinnyboy, I think Mav140's files are in MicroDVD's .sub format, i.e. normal text subtitles that sure can be loaded in Subtitle Workshop and SubtitleCreator... I know that vobsub uses the same extension, but I doubt that his files are vobsub files... (on a side note, I can see that Subtitle Workshop lets you load DVDsubtitles files too, in .sub format?)

Mav140, you need to have the Microsoft .NET framework installed. There's a link for this at the bottom of the first post in the SubtitleCreator thread.

Ah, I see. I would have thought if someone was using DVDSubtitle or MicroDVD or MPSub or SubViewer or SubSonic or Sofni etc (all subtitle formats with .sub extension and supported by SubtitleWorkshop, so yes, DVDSubtitles can be loaded into Subtitle Workshop too), they would have explicitly mentioned so. I assumed it was idx/sub because its one of the most commonly used formats.

I have just one more question... sorry for all the trouble.... I have done everything you said, and it works perfectly.... but now I have another question... I want to keep the menu of the DVD and all the features... so how do I join my new VOBs with the other ones so that the movie has the chapters, and the extra features?? I read a post, I think it was from you CoNs... and you said u used a software to do this?? Please can u tell me which software?? And if it is hard to use, maybe u could put a link to a guide?? or is it easy to use?? Thanks for everything!

NP, I'm glad it worked for you! :)

See this (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=773057) post on how to copy the newly muxed PGC (from the "new" simple DVD containing only the main movie) back into the original DVD structure, to keep menus, extras etc.

Thank you very much!!! It works almost everything... the thing right now, is that it doesnīt have chapters.... I know I can be a pain in the ass... but could you please help me with that?

Well, if your original DVD has chapters, you can easily use the same chapter points in the output (the newly muxed movie).

When demuxing (I use PgcDemux for this) you should enable the save Celltimes.txt option. (IfoEdit and PgcEdit are able to save the chapters in a Celltimes.txt for you, too).

Then, when putting it all back together (muxing/authoring in MuxMan, IfoEdit etc.), you must import the chapters by loading the Celltimes.txt file before starting the process.

If your original DVD for some reason doesn't have chapters, or if you're not happy with the chapter point, see this post (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=105628) on how to create/modify chapter points.
