Can anyone tell me what the error:
Player: Video codec (IV41) not supported by the player means??
It has happened with a few avi and mpeg files / movies I am trying to play using TCMP.
The thing I can't understand is that they (the movies) are just .mov and .avi files. Some from this site work on TCMP and some don't. Like, .....look at this one for example (on the site listed below) ........ the one called "George's Answer".
Any thoughts / ideas on this? Any other ideas out there?

Thanks very much !!

IV41 = Indeo 4
That format is probably not supported by TCMP.

I assume it is supported if the appropriate codec is installed :)
what about an Indeo Codec (http://www.codec-download.de/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewsdownload&sid=58)...
but where is the appropriate relation to CoreAVC? ;)

Forgive me ....... I am a newbie here. Can you point me to the exact download file for my Palm Tungsten T3 that MIGHT make this work?
Cheers,

Yeah, I don't think it's supported yet either - although it's a very rarely used codec as well. I don't like it's output very much at all.
Maybe you should try posting about that problem on the TCPMP forum though... here:http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=103199 because your problem seems a bit more relevant to TCPMP than its AVC codec.

P.S. I thought support had been added a few weeks ago - but I could be wrong... support was added for some similar codec, at least.

ah ok, now I understand.. sorry, that was my fault. You ment TCPMP doesn't know Indeo... thought you mean your (general) player complains about the stream...
for TCPMP I don't know...

Yeap, Indeo is not supported. ffmpeg in theory could support Indeo2/3, but they are way updated formats and didn't wanted to make the ffmpeg plugin largers as it is now.
Btw it won't play in TCPMP's windows version either, because using DirectShow filters are not supported yet.
