(not sure which forum this thread falls under. if mods find a better place, your are welcome to move it)

I'm fairly new to dvd backup, hope someone can answer this question for me.

My problem is that I have a dvd which I use IfoEdit and PgcEdit stripped out all the extras I don't want to keep, and modified the menus to block off access to the stripped content. Now I'd like to re-encode the main movie vobs only to fit it on a single DVD-R.

I looked through the doom9 guides on DVD Rebuilder and DIF4U, both of which requires a lot of setup, and most of which doesn't quite apply to what I want. so before I go off and do all these work I don't need to, I want to ask is there an easier method if all I want to do it demux the main movie -> encode (preferrably cce) -> remux back into the dvd I already have. (I read about the remux sync problem with the IfoEdit, is there another muxer that doesn't have this problem)

You can perfectly use DVD Rebuilder to do that... as long as your "pre-processed" original doesn't have serious Authoring problems (out of specs) :)

On Rebuilder it is not true... just use the Installation pack and you can do it with one click :)

Simply select Full Backup. Since you have taken out all the extras, DVD-RB will process and encode the movie/menus via CCE.

I have done 2 movies thus far with DVD-RB and I like it a lot :)
