How do I encode my movie to divx4 using single pass only ? I saw that option available in Knot but it is disabled!

excuse me if i'm wrong.. but it looks like you're trying to encode with divx 3.11 codecs, and not the 4.. as far as i know, version 3.11 doesn't support 2-pass.

I'm trying to encode to divx4 and I only want to encode in single pass. I don't want to spend to much time on encoding. I'm sure that it can be done outside of knot using virtualdub.

Does that mean that 1 pass encoding will be available in future?
2 passes take some time, and there are movies that i don't mind to loose some quality and just do 1 pass.
Thanks for your dedication,

I think i found a way to do 1 pass compression with the Gnot data.
I just do the audio first with azid/lame. Then follow all the steps found in Doom9’s guide, subtitles included, to create the avs file, making sure that i’ve introduced the file size of the audio in the bitrate section.
Then open the avs file in Vdub and configure the video to 1 pass divx4, do the video compression and then join the audio and video in Nandub.
I know that Gnot was created to simplify all the steps necessary to do 2 pass compression, and 2 pass is a LOT better than 1 pass, but there are people out there that don’t mind to do 1 pass in certain movies. I now that i could make all this using Xmpeg without audio, but Gnot allows me to place the subtitles anywhere in the picture (more up or down, etc.) And it’s a lot more stable to do the compression in Vdub than in Xmpeg.
