I use DVD-RB Pro from the zip file to a folder rather than the installer, and actually create 5 different folders with each having my own custom settings, like 1 pass for one folder with its own unique name, 2 pass with "undot and deen" in another folder with its own unique name, etc. ( i know, i'm just a little anal ). With the past few updates, the key file did not need to update to the internet.Actually, after the initial update, every other folder just opened and DVD-RB worked without updating the key to each folder. With v1.06pro , after unzipping the file to the first folder and saying "yes to all" to overwriting the existing files , when opening DVD-RB it asked to connect to the internet to update the key file, which I say yes, and all is well. Then when I unzip the file to my next folder and overwrite existing files and open DVD-RB it asks to do the update the key file again. The reg number is the same as the first folder, but i must click update key again to make that version in that folder work. If I do the same to the next three folders, I will have updated the key file 5 times in less than than a couple minutes. Thus , will I have used up all my registrations? The Reg number is the same every time, but I stopped after the second folder to ask this question before creating a problem for myself. This has always been a really cool feature for me since I can have multiple DVD's set up to run after one finishes and not have to change matrixes and other options with every backup.

The registration limitation of 5 isn't on the number of times you get a key file -- but on the number of SYSTEM IDs you register. Since all the entries are using the same key file (because its on the same system and has the same SYSTEM ID) -- you can create as many directories as you want. In fact, it would be quicker to just copy the directory five times after the first registration and you will be copying the key file as well -- skipping the registration step completely on the other directories.
Just as a note, however, you will find that you can do the exact same thing with only one directory by making the same settings and saving them into TEMPLATE files.

Good to know, thanks. I will try making some templates and test that way out too. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your program and its capabilities and the time you must spend on it. Thanks again.

Not as much as I appreciate people who put it to good work. :)

I became VIP member after having tested DVD-RB (very good program :D) But I have 2 PCs and I often change components for the play games (graphic card, processor...) Then my ID identifier will be change... I will quickly exceed the registration limitation :( We can't have a registration limitation / month?? or another registration limitation. And thank you for this excellent program (sorry for my approximate english)
:thanks:

You swap processors frequently to play games? That's not is not wise. Build a PC to play games.
Alternately, save the registration files for each of your configurations.
You have 5 registrations. There is no valid reason you should exceed 5 registrations on 2 PCs.
I have 4 PCs and have only needed one reset from jdobbs in months of continuous upgrades.

The graphics card or processor should not change the SYSTEM ID. You would have to do something dramatic like reformat the hard drive or install a new operating system. BTW, the count is already reset regularly.

Thanks for your answer jdobbs. I put this question because I will change my first PC in the weeks has to come (Intel Core 2 Duo :D) and my second the end of the year (AMD K10 :D). I would like take Vista too.

I espere never not to exceed the limitation (the first year :D). But the matierel moves so much quickly that I put myself this question. I also understand that this limit exists to continue develloppement this great program.
Finally I thank jdobbs for this excellent program, this is why I became VIP.

Just a little feed-back. I made a new pc some months ago. I therefore used a new key. But since, I topped up hard disks and this changed my ID. what joins what I said more high. I must have 1 or 2 key still, but this quickly goes
:thanks:

You're concerning yourself about something that isn't an issue.
DVD-RB doesn't limit you to 5 keys... it limits you to 5 concurrent keys. The key count gets reset regularly (for example with every version release) -- so it is very unlikely that you would ever hit the limit unless you rebuild your computer every day.
The purpose of the key isn't to limit the use among registered users -- it is there to discourage ripoffs.

Firstly, thank you for answering so fast, especially one Sunday. You reassure me because 2 keys for the same pc, this made a lot. But I understand your circumspection against the pirates. Still thank you for this elucidation and grieved for my aproximatif English, I use a translator
:thanks: :thanks: :thanks:
