I have a Scenarist template I created and have been used for making DVD's of one of my favorite series. All the AVI original files have been PAL 25FPS format. I'm down to my last two episodes and guess what, NTS film format. Don't really want to convert it to PAL format, however also do not want to recreate my complicated menu template in NTSC format either. Is there an easy way to convert this template to NTSC and adjust all the associated elements? I figured I could export the template, and with notepad change all the PAL elements and sizes to NTSC format and size, however wasn't sure what that would break. Any suggestions?

THanks.

Here's a thread that kind of deals with what you're talking about. I couldn't really get it to work for me in a way that was useful. You can't delete tracks and data without deleting tracks in the Scenario Editor thus removing anything that's worth keeping. Complex menus can also take ages to put together and having to remove them seems to defeat the purpose of the exercise. I should really give it another go because I may have been doing something wrong.

Here's what I ended up doing and it seems to work great:

1. Take PAL project and in Scenarist select Export > Export Project
2. Leave settings as is and click OK.
3. Open scp file that was just created with Notepad.
4. Search and replace all references of "Height=576" with "Height=480"
5. Search and replace all references of "Resolution=PAL" with "Resolution=NTSC"
6. Search and replace all references of "Size=720 x 576" with "Size=720 x 480"
7. I also have the word PAL in most of my associated project assets so renamed all those with NTSC as I was going to have to regenerate the jpg and bmp assets with 720x480 instead of 720x576.
8. Save the changes.
9. Resize your assets and adjust as necessary for the new size.
10. Open Scenarist and select Import on the main screen.
11. Select the scp file you saved as the "Script File" and put a name in for the "Scenario File". Now you just need to provide your NTSC assets and can reuse the existing menu.

And of course you can always reverse these directions for PAL.

Sounds good, I'll give it a go.
