I often capture some films from TV. I have plugged composite Video Input on my ATI 9200 VIVO graphic card into the composite Video Output on my SONY VCR. I have plugged antenna output into the Aerial input connector on SONY VCR for TV signal reception. I can capture films from four TV channels. All TV channels have excellent brightness and contrast exception one. (I usually capture with VirtualVCR or VirtualDubMod.) The contrast has higher level on this one channel than on the other channels. Okey, I can adjust this, but either with adjusting, or without adjusting the contrast, some sequences are lighter and some darker. This is whenever I watch or capture from this channel, but I have wished the picture is getting dark only on lighter frames. This problem is only on this channel although a quality of the signal is excellent. Maybe ATI Rage Theater Chip automaticly reduces the contrast in too light frames. I don't know, yet.

on this link are two pictures. The first of these pictures is a frame from the normal light sequence of the film and second is frame after the sequence of the film was getting dark: http://www.mv20860.szm.sk/film.htm

Thanks everyone, who can help me and sorry for my english. I know, it isn't very well.

Hi!

Is it possible that you're seeing the effects of Macrovision?

Thanks for your interest. I added a short video on this link: http://www.mv20860.szm.sk/film.htm. In this short sequence of the film you can see, that the contrast gets dark for a moment.

Isn't the Macrovision a protection against copying films from VHS video cassettes? But I see, that the contrast gets dark, when I watch the TV program. This effects I observe only when I watch television program on that channel. On other channels is all O.K.

If you're now saying that the actual video transmission appears that way when you are simply watching television, then A) It has nothing to do with your effort to capture, and B)the problem would seem to be in the broadcasting - Unless, of course, only this channel is broadcasting with Macrovision and your SONY VCR is responding to that...

Yes, you are right. It has nothing to do with my effort to capture and problem would seem to be in the broadcasting, because when I watch a film which is altogether dark (without too light passages, for example with white coats, snowy country), those effects I don't observe. Therefore I don't think, the channel is broadcasting with Macrovision. I have written to television corporation, which have transmission rights to this channel. So I hope, they reply where exactly is the problem.
