I am getting this strange behaviour where mplayer refuses to seek forward in the avi file (says try -idx option, but that doesn't work either) that I created using AGK. I went back and tried GK. Same thing. The file is well over 2GB. Is that the limit? Is there a way to surpass that limit?

I put it here because I think I might be doing something wrong in creating the AVI file itself or may be there is some option in (A)GK to make the resulatant file "seekable".

Have you tried a different player?
AVI's produced by AGK or GK will have a keyframe at least once every 10 seconds, whether XviD or DivX.
Most players can seek ahead, and pick up playing at the next keyframe.
