Ive preaty much destroyed my windows xp wth constant installing and reinstalling of codec, 50 times easy. Does any one have expert opinion how to compleatly uninstall/unregistar all video and audio codecs.
After that in witch order and witch codec to install( and with witch options)
I need mkv, aac, avi, mp3, mp4, ffdshow... Please hlp

It might help you to first search and find out the differences between codecs and containers.

I know the difs, but I still need helpn to install uninstall, codec and spliters.

Follow these instructions (http://www.cccp-project.net/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page#Latest_CCCP_.28aka._Download_Here.21.29) to the letter. This includes a good codec cleanup tool and a rather non-destructive codec pack if you want the suite again without manually installing everything useful.
