I'm searching for software which allow me to find delay and setup delay quickly and comfortable in MPEG2 video files.

Any suggestions? :)

What do you mean by "delay in MPEG2 video files"? If it's a video file, then there's no audio, so I suppose you are not referring to audio-video delay.

I mean video and audio files of course. And the delay is audio delay. :)
I get it when I record movies from satellite.

If you have an MPEG2 transport or program stream, there is no "delay" per se applicable because there are PTS/DTS timestamps specifying when audio and video are to be presented. The issue arises only if you demux the audio and video such that the timestamps are lost. In that case, your demuxing application needs to report the delay. For example, DGIndex does it by placing the delay value in the demuxed audio's filename. Then the encoding process needs to correct for that delay.

So the answer depends on how you are demuxing, and how you are encoding, neither of which you have described.

I insert HDD from my reciever (Topfield 5000 PVR) into my computer and then create MPEG2 file (Program) with DVR Studio software. This MPEG2 is with video audio sync problem already..

You need to get support from the makers of DVR Studio.

Hi AlexeyS,

When you look at your Topfield 5000 PVR captures, what file extension do you see.... .MPG, .TS, etc?

I only ask because I've recently received some "problem" DVB-T and EyeTV500 captures (from various people) and although they have an .MPG file extension, they are in-fact "Transport" .TS streams.

After changing the file extension to .TS and running them thru' "MPEG2Repair" (http://users.adelphia.net/~mwilczyn/mpeg2repair/), I found the streams worked perfectly ;)

Cheers

Actually Topfield 5000 uses it's own HDD structure (I can't just copy files from this HDD). So, I need to use this software..

You need to get support from the makers of DVR Studio.
So, it's not normal situation? I'll ask the developer.
