Hi All I've already asked for that , as reply to another thread of mine in the Czapture forum, but I didn't get any answer there, most likely because it was surely off topic there, so I am requesting it here again:

I have a question about VirtualDubMod, whit this application, when I switch to capture mode, it both try to link to "Microsoft WDM image capture (Win32)(VFW)" returninga "401" status, VirtualDubMod then become inactive and the whole system crash after some few minute with a "page error fault". It should connect to "Cinergy 250 BDA Analog capture (Direct Show)" instead, like VirtualDub does. I dont know how to change this behaviour. VirtualDub works perfect (from an ignorant point of view thoug) with the Cinergy driver, I already succedd to capture about 20mins of video (for testing purpose) with no drop frames and audio in sync. If I could use the timer features in VirtualDubMod it would be wonderfull and I could keep readin the rest of the capture guide.

Thanks for any reply and suggestion.

Regards

VDubMod can't use DirectShow to cap, it has to use the VfWWDM wrapper (assuming you installed WDM drivers).

That's weird. Can you select and cap with that in VDub? This 'Cinergy 250 BDA' what kind of chip uses that (ATI or something else)?

I have this wrapper installed "vfwwdm32.dll", this driver it is not usable with any capturing software that calls it, including VDub, it act exctly as VDubMod! As reported in the electronic manual, the chipset is Phillips SAA 713x

Well Looks like I have to stick with VirtualDub, it doesnt have a start function, but at leats its stopping condiction works good enough.

Many thanks again for your time :)

Forgot to mention ... VDubMod has no timer function. I think Virtual VCD + SYNC has it (a VDub mod of Dittrich): http://www.virtualdub.net/download.htm, but you still need to use that wrapper here.

You can also try VirtualVCR. It also has a timer and it is a WDM based cap application:

I've already tried VirtualVCR, and it work perfect, but for some reason I like more the output file from VDub, maybe are just my eyes, but the quality seems a bit better with VDub.

Thanks again and regards :thanks:
