The new post editing system caught me by surpriseYou're not the only one.. but it's so much better indeed.. I always wished I had the other posts still available to me.
You should thank Swede.. he did all the work, ported the hacks, made the conversion, backups, etc. Some days I think I'm not worthy of being an admin..

Talking about "hacks"... I've just spotted this one over on AVS: -

And many, many thanks Swede :D

well, why would you need to download it? There's the search engine friendly thread view that shows the whole thread at once.. without all the graphical fuss..

I can't seem to get the smilies, insert link, Wrap [Quote] or anything at the top of where I am now posting to work. Before, I would just double click to start the function.
Why is it not working for me? Is anyone else having this problem?

I've just tried it and it saves the entire thread as a rich-text file.... very weird.

The MarkAsRead behaviour hack in User CP seem broken: when i mark as read a forum i'm allways back to the sub-forum index and not to the forum index.

Anyone noted that on the post titlebars the "Link-to-post" link has disappeared? Actually, that was the handy one ... the remaining "#post" link is unserviceable, since cutting posts out of their context often (mostly) is a bad idea.

Just try and refresh the page (F5), it seems to have done the trick for some users.

You win some, you lose some... I've restored that link. ;)

I think I found a quick and easy way to fix this that doesn't involve any sourcecode modification.

first of all thx a lot swede :)
but i noticed one not good thing in the new forum:
when inserting a link via the "insert link" option (the globe) it doesnt offer you anymore the option to write a name for the link (which is shown instead of the link itself)
can we have this option back? :)

I hadn't tried this yet, but when I do, I get the dialogue for the link and when I then press OK the 'linkname' that you're talking about is highlighted and selected so if you only just type the name...
If this doesn't happen when you try, first try a refresh (F5) and see if things get better.

indeed, didnt realise that the name is highlighted and therefore easily editable :)

Yeah, well, that was just my usual luck... Doing a major upgrade with a 2 day old version and I just didn't have the strength to do it again the other night.
But so far (yeah two days) it seems that all the hacks, using the new plugin-system, don't need any modification to the sourcecode meaning more beer-time for me. :D

q4u: Would it be possible to pull all the CSS and extraneous javascript chunks out into separate files? I never figured why vbb has always inlined it all. I think that's why the quick reply area is always delayed a few seconds. (Or maybe it's just the javascript init function.)

Title threads correction doesn't seem to work properly...
I edited my 1st post in BeLight's thread (i.e change the title: "BeLight 0.22 beta 8 released" to "BeLight 0.22 beta 9 is out") and the modification doesn't appear in the main menu.

Well, there is (and has always been) a one year limitation on 'Edited thread titles' ;)

Swede

Well, at the time we thought that it would be more than enough but then again "What's another year?"... (It's now two years, and no, that's enough.)
