no, both framework versions is fine. Anyway, what happens if you run the xvidencraw commandline from the commandline or as a batch?
Sorry. I'm a real n00b. I only use GUI's like GK and MEgui. I got no idea what you're askin me to do

Hello i dealing the last days with a crash problem when i try to update megui. At the beginning it crashed when it downloads the core update , but i passed it when a frind gave me the updated megui.exe. When i runned the new version it crashed at the next update : "data" exactly after it downloads the update again.
I have installed/uninstalled the NET Framework , cleared the registry from any megui recordings , deleted and re-created the folder of megui trying with the 3 last versions from scratch and from the completed folder that i had before i made format my pc.
The known window of "Megui has encoutered a problem..." appears each time..
I also had this problem, but fixed it by completely deleting my manual MeGUI install, and downloading the megui-install.exe package from http://x264.nl/ then updating from this. The update then completed successfully.

@Donholio: 0.2.4.1023 should work

Why is the default resampling in Avisynth script creator now bilinear instead of Lanczos? I would have thought the latter is optimal in most (all) cases.
Also, why was color correction turned off by default?

Did something change in the Average Bit Rate Selection window when clicking Autoencode?
Previously I would enter in an average bit rate of 2,500 for a 2hr movie and it would give me a file size of between 2.1-2.5GB. Now after downloading the most recent version I when I enter in a bit rate of 2,500 I get a file size of 300mb. What's up with that?

Actually it was my mistake...I forgot that I had the Trim option in my avs script which was causing the problem.
Sorry
But I do have one other problem. Currently using version 1019. When I start MeGui I get the updates available for the Core. It says latest version is 1023. When I click Update, it downloads and completes. When it asks to restart MeGui I get an error indicating that MeGui could not run the update. It then stays at 1019.

as far as I can tell it doesn't download anything. At least I can't see any evidence of it. Try changing the priority of the mirrors and see if that fixes it.

latest version doesn't want to load avs scripts files on the OS drive, in this case C:, giving this error:
http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/1073/clipboard1xt3.png
works fine when moved to either of my other two drives. more info here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=119897)
EDIT: spoke too soon, worked a few times. stopped working again, regardless of drive. if i disable automatic preview in settings, it loads and encoding runs smoothly

Happens when I use AviSynth script creator then do the following in this order
1. Open a d2v
2. Close the video window
3. Press Auto crop (dialogue box comes up)
4. Press 'open in original video player' button
5. Press Auto crop again

you need to find the window that pops up in the Background......it'll tell you to import the profiles.
This is about the 800th person who has called this a bug when in reality it's not.

Megui is crashing on my pc. I download just the exe; when i try to do an update; the application crashes. I tried it with updatecopier lastest version and everything updated even my OS and .NET . It is still crashing even in a new directory.

yep, me too. First time I updated with the new megui
Got stuck on 33/36 or something.
no other window with import profiles present.
And no other windows were open on the desktop :)
2nd time the 'imprt prfile window' distinctively pops up on th elft side. Before, megui just froze.
I'm having trouble with some other thing right now.
open AVS script, choose XVID and some 45% comp. check HQ profile,
I go to the matrix/open in settings and choose the cqm i downloaded from doom9 on my hd (so it points to the right location of the file
somewhere on my HD)
Que the jobs, it starts, after a while (not immediately)
the log says "job conatins errors" skipping jobs in jobchain.
why is that?
I;m doing a search now. all codecs are already there right?

question
can megui set proper fps when i click auto encode, not only 25fps :(
Sharktooth

FPS are set during the avisynth script creation.
If megui wrongly detected 25 FPS just chage it before saving the avs script.

for me that bug also has only showed up once after the update. so it doesnt seem to that anoying any more, since it doesnt occur that often, but nevertheless if it does the only way out again is the task manager. but at least that update fixed that I dont have to reinstall megui any more, I can just clear the queue with the new start of megui.

i created an new x264 profile (because i normally prefer changing 1 or 2 values of an old one but leave the profile unchanged). This "new" behavier is really annoying imo.... but back to my problem...
It was labeled as automatic 2pass but after the first pass finished it just stopped.... when i click on "start" i get the following error.
http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/2853/quebuggs9.th.png (http://img176.imageshack.us/my.php?image=quebuggs9.png)
As you see there is still 1 job "waiting". i have to rightklick on it and select -->waiting and then i can start the 2nd pass with the "start" button.
And i get also get a crash when i try to delete jobs :/

Another bug in 0.2.4.1020 - I think somebody already reported it.
It happens when I select 2 jobs in jobs list and press "Delete" button. Something wrong with selection handling:
6582
It never(I think) happens if I use "Clear" button or use "Delete" button when only one job is selected.
it happens now the same to me too..
and after that the program not even start. So i uninstall it and install again , and when i update it i get:

Oh, right.
I have a crash report. When using the One click encoder to create a Ipod file, MeGUI crashes after the DGindex pass.
Actually it appears to create the DGindex file, analyze for interlacing, and then crash.
Can anyone confirm?

It seems there is a bug if you want to define an output for your audiofile. In the main window you can configure your audio settings and if you press the button right after the output path (with the 3 dots) there comes up an 'file open window' where you can't define a new outputfile. I think this is not to be intended (it should be an 'file save window').
Here is a link to the dialog window I mean.
ftp://empty.dnsalias.org/megui_output.gif
It's a german windows xp pro but notice the headline:
it asks for output but wants to open (Öffnen) a file.

When I try to select movie in AviSynth Script Creator Megui closes itself. I have installed AviSynth 2.5.6a and the latest FFdshow.
I suspect problem with AviSynth because Megui is just a frontend.

I made few tests and I have discovered that the problem in Megui is not related with AviSynth. AviSynth works very well on VISTA. It must be something wrong in MeGUI! Sharktooth please heeelp :)

i'm encoding my audio to ogg vorbis, multichannel, quality 0.6. the size of the resulting files is the same as when i set it to multichannel, quality 0.3. i also tried quality 1 or quality 0.1 - the files are always the same size. what's wrong?
see this screenshot for an example:
http://rrs.at/external/megui/oggerror.jpg
sorry to bug you with this but could someone take a look into it? the audio files are way too large and there's no way to change the size. i looked at the job xml files, they contain the correct quality tags (0.3 or 0.6 or 1.0, whatever i try). still, the output file is always same sized.
thanks...
ps: here are the job xml files:

Hi,
I can also verify that opening AVS scripts in the latest version of MeGUI (1025) is broken. I get the error message is the same as above user (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=922671#post922671), and I get it both when I try to open the AVS file, or when I tried to create one. Just to help out, I installed the Helix YUV codecs:
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Helix_YUV_Codecs.htm
I can create the script manually or on another computer running windows XP, then open the script in Media Player Classic and with VirtualDubSynth without issue. I get the error message once, I can click OK, then I get the error message again. Once I click OK again, the message goes away. I am able to add the job and run the encoding process.
The encoded file is perfect and has no issues whatsoever. It's an issue for me, but since I have access to another OS which I can create the synth file then transfer to my main machine for encoding with full horsepower, it's an annoyance. It is most certainly a big issue for someone without 2 machines.
I am running Vista RTM Ultimate. I run MeGUI with full administrative support.
I run AVISynth 2.56a (non-alpha).
I downgraded to 1020 and it also had the same issue. If you have other versions you would like me to test, please PM or IM me.
Thanks again for this great application and your support. Let me know if you want me to do anything.

I also have the latest FFDShow on there (12/30/06). http://www.free-codecs.com/download/FFDShow.htm.
It is a fresh install as of last night. I performed the following steps:
1) Install Vista
2) Install FFDShow
3) Install AVISynth 2.56a
4) Install MeGUI 1020 from Sourceforge and update everything to the latest version
5) Install DVD Decrypter
6) Decrypt DVD
7) Run the D2V app in MeGUI
8) Open the D2V file (get error)
9) Install the YV12 codec to make sure it's not an issue with that.
10) Create AVISynth script on my other computer
11) Open AVISynth script on Vista machine (get error)
12) Queue the job
13) Begin the encode
I have tried this with multiple movies, all the same issue. I have tried both DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink (with no compression) and the issue remains.
I don't think it matters what my hardware is, but here goes:
Asus P5B-Deluxe Motherboard (http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?l1=3&l2=11&l3=307&model=1295&modelmenu=1)
Intel Core Duo e6400 (Dual Core 2.13Ghz)
2GB Corsair 6400 memory
Raid 0 (2) 400GB Hard Drives
Nvidia Geforce 7800GTX
Onboard Sound (Soundmax) and Network (Marvell Yukon 88E8003)
OS
Vista Ultimate 32bit
Drivers:
Video Nvidia 7.15.9752 (Latest Beta as release drivers cause graphics corruption in games)
Everything else is RTM Vista supplied
PM or IM me if you have any questions.

I can't seem to open d2v files in the AVSynth script creator. I get a two different errors:
Crop: YUV images can only be cropped by even numbers (left side).
Crop: Destination height is 0 or less
*Sometimes* the preview window will open up and it's just green. I have the YUV codecs installed, so I don't know what else I'm missing.

I have the EXACT same problem, except i'm on Win2K SP4. I've got AVISynth 2.56a, YUVCodecs, .net 2.0, etc. It works on 0.2.3.2193 and older versions. Anything after that and MeGUI just crashes when either creating or opening an .avs file. PM me if you got any questions.

i tried on 3 PCs ... and it definatly works...
check your avisynth plugin folder and keep only the required filters, check your system for instabilities, ensure you have the correct version of DGIndex and a YUV codec installed.

I can't get MeGUI to set the number of threads properly. I'd been following the discussion here:-
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=119480&page=10
and I'd been checking and trying to get it to work right.
I started clean and uninstalled MeGUI and then reinstalled a newly downloaded version from
http://x264.nl
then did the auto-update
I have AviSynth 2.5.7 RC3 installed (previously just 2.5.6).
Core2Duo @ 3.0GHz
I have created two separate profiles (1 for first pass and another for 2nd pass) and set the number of threads within the profiles to 8. If I copy and paste the command line into a DOS windows and set it off, task manager reports between 8 and 13 threads being used, with CPU @ 100%.
If I just use MeGUI queue it always sets threads to 2, according to the log. Is this a known bug now, or is there something I should be doing? This applies to both passes, 1st and 2nd.
I also have another problem after I try and delete something from the queue, it throws up an error:
"MeGUI encountered a fatal error and may not be able to proceed. Reason: The given key was not present in the dictionary. Source of exception: mscorlib stacktrace: at System.ThrowHelper.ThrowKeynotFoundException()
at System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary`2.get_Item(TKey key)
at Me"
etc....lots of line if you want 'em! And then I have to end task it to get rid of MeGUI

hi
I found a little interface bug AviSynth script creator :

I removed avisynth from the machine. I removed the avisynth directory from the program files directory (including the plugins directory). I reinstalled AVISynth 2.56a again (the recommended version) from Sourceforge.
I removed the autoupdate.xml file from the MeGUI directory to kickstart finding all non-installed filters. When I launch the update util I see the following with checks:
Libs
AVSWrapper
updatecopier
convolution3dyv12
undot
fluxsmooth
eedi2
decomb
leakkerneldeint
tomsmocomp
tdeint
tivtc
dgdecode
simpleresize
colormatrix
nicaudio
I saved the dgdecode.dll and dgdecodemanual.html and copied those over to the plugins directory.
So in the plugins directory, I have
colors_rgb.avsi
dgdecode.dll
dgdecodemanual.html
directshowsource.dll
tcpdeliver.dll
I then try to create an avs file using megui, and the problem still happens.
So then after crying a little, I decided "screw it" and installed the latest alpha from 12/31/06 (AviSynth_311206). Low and behold, even though we are advised to NEVER install the alpha, that worked---- ONCE! Grrrrr...
So thinking about this, I started wondering about the fact that when I reinstalled AVISynth it worked once. That got me thinking about the prefetch directory (c:\windows\prefetch). I went in and cleared it out, that worked--- ONCE!!!
Then I wondered about permissions. I set myself with full control over the megui and avisynth directories and all subdirs. That worked--- ONCE!!!!
The latest thing is that if I reboot the box, I am able to open the D2V file for AVS encoding once.
I am at a loss here. I feel like I am trying stuff and not getting anywhere. I don't mean to call out the developers on this, but I would like to know a little more about what is going on behind the scenes here. This is the same machine I was running XP x86_64 on without issue and this Vista x86_32. No hardware has changed, just a fresh install (non upgrade) of Vista.
I have reinstalled MeGUI multiple times, installed only the pieces that I need to have to do AVISynth and the problem still occurs. Other applications that use AVISynth (VirtualDub, VirtualDubMod) works without issues over and over again, but MeGUI seems to allow it to work only once. Could it have something to do with avswrapper? Was it recently updated? Does VDub use it? I have no idea what that does, but noticed it when I did my last update.

uninstall all the apps (if you want make back ups but dont copy any files back just yet) - reboot - this will make sure any registered files are no longer registered
del all files in windows\temp and C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\Local Settings\Temp - and clean all files from prefetch
check that avisynth and megui folders are not in programs folder if they are del them - leave no files anywhere
then reinstall everything again
if none of that works you still have your backup to fall back on (if you made one :) )

Carpo,
I wasn't sure who you are talking to, but I took it to be me.
I am using the bins version of MeGUI from Sourceforge. I moved the megui directory to my server for backup. I removed the avisynth app with add / remove programs. I removed the avisynth plugins directory and rebooted.
I cleaned the C:\windows\temp and c:\windows\prefetch directories, emptied the recycle bin and rebooted.
I installed AVISynth 2.56a (latest non-alpha). I cleared all checkboxes except for the Associate AVS with notepad.
I created the c:\program files\MeGUI directory and downloaded "MeGUI.NETv2.0_Bins_0.2.4.1020.zip" from SourceForge. I uncompressed the files to the c:\program files\MeGUI directory. I launched MeGUI in Administrator mode. I updated all of the files to the latest version.
I opened the D2V files with the AVISynth script creator and I get the same error about the file not being able to be opened talking about the YV12 codec. It says as before that it attempted to read or write protected memory and that it's often an indication that memory is corrupt.
I ran memtest for 2 cycles last night with no errors.
I rebooted the box and now when I try to open the D2V file, I get another error message which I included in a post below this one. It does open the avisynth window, but does not show any video. The next time I opened the file, I get the error message that we keep seeing over and over again which is included in a post below this one.

Oh yeah, and I got error dialogs similar to the ones other users have been reporting here. Seems they come a lot--when deleting items from the queue, when deleting profiles (the profiles remain in the selection window after deletion, and selecting them causes the crash), zone config, and sometimes just clicking around in it. i tried on 3 PCs ... and it definatly works...
check your avisynth plugin folder and keep only the required filters, check your system for instabilities, ensure you have the correct version of DGIndex and a YUV codec installed.
Um.. the part you're missing here is, that these errors ONLY OCCUR in the later versions of MeGUI. I repeat, it works perfectly fine in an older core or VDub. This means that it cannot be my filters, or other problems with my system. Rather, it is an incompatibility with Win2K/Vista and the newest cores of MeGUI.
And yes, I do have a clean install of Avisynth, only the req'd filters, my system is perfectly stable, I have the correct version of DGIndex and a YUV codec.
Have you tested this on Win2K SP4 yet? If you haven't, please don't say it "definitely works" until you have.

Make sure you are running MeGUI as Administrator.
To do this, right click on the shortcut and click properties, then click advanced. There should be a check mark in there for run as administrator.
Another way to do it is running the app in compatibility mode as administrator. This doc will help you out.

Hi Sharktooth, Dizmon, Berrinam, and other MeGUI developers,
I realize that having Vista or Windows 2000 might not be an option for you guys and that the primary focus of coding is Windows XP. I am asking however for some information to help with troubleshooting to possibly fix the problems people are having with MeGUI.
I would like to know how creating new AVISynth scripts and opening them with MeGUI for encoding occurs.
From what I understand, when you open the file for creation or to encode the file, it calls AVISynth with the dgdecode dll to show the MPEG-2 video.
Is the window display of the video that comes up a part of AVISynth or a part of the MeGUI application? My best guess is that it's part of MeGUI (maybe the Avisynthwrapper.dll) , but I don't know for sure.
I found this:
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=106614
where the user was getting a similar error and it was related to the avisynthwrapper.dll version. If I had to place a bet, avisynthwrapper is where I think the problem is. I don't know WHY this error is happening.
I have moved my main encoding machine back to XP, but I am willing to setup a Virtual Machines of Vista and W2K. The same issue will happen in the VM.
I am more than willing to work out making these VMs available to the MeGUI developers. I would have to build the VMs first though.
I would really like to get this issue fixed and I am willing to make things happen to get it fixed. I know you guys are busy, but if you are willing to work to fix this issue, I am willing to give you a sandbox to work with.

try replacing your avisynthwrapper.dll with this one: http://www.webalice.it/f.corriga/megui/AvisynthWrapper.7z (it should be placed in the megui installation folder)

@ Selur,
Yeah it's kind of wierd the way that it works. Kind of a step backwards. It would be nice if they could look at Linux and figure out a way to prompt you to allow access automatically when you launch an application that requires it. Almost every app we use right now for ripping and transcoding requires admin access.

I checked the MD5 hash of both files (the version you sent me to and the version in the distro) and they are exactly the same. Since the date on the file is in May, and AVISynth hasn't been updated since 1020 came out, I would say we are back to the MeGUI executable.
Let me know if you want me to create the VMs for you and give you access so you can troubleshoot the issue. IM or PM me.

H.264 levels care about the selected profiles concerning max bitrate. For High Profile and 3.2 it's 25000, for Main 20000. MeGUI always uses 20000 regardless of the profile selected.
rpp3po
8th January 2007, 15:46
I must extend my previous post. It's not just level 3.2. MeGUI doesn't seem to care at all about the selected profile when calculating this.
I'm not able to produce a hardware compliant level 3 AVC in high profile up to 12,5 MBit/s. MeGUI limits this to 10 MBit/s because of that bug.

I had the same issue as kurt. The only way out of megui is the Ctrl-Alt-Del and end process on megui. Just for reference, I would hold down the shift key while selecting multiple jobs then hit delete. That's when the errors popped up. I should try to just hit delete on the first job (which would delete all the jobs in that chain) to see if that works ok.... Can't test it right now, cause I'm busy encoding =)
Anyway, I'm here to report a possible bug. Not sure if it has been reported or not.
When I select the iPod 5.5G profile from the main screen, and then hit the Config button, the config screen loads the older iPod 5G profile. I'm not sure what happens when you hit AutoEncode, which profile it actually uses... My only solution was to delete the older ipod profile, and everything loads like it should now. *shrug* I'm not even sure if it was causing issues, or just an annoyance.

this and the last build got this bug, dont know if older ones got it too (but there is at least one without).
I only had a d2v File (and, for sure the audio/video files). I opened the "AviSynth script creator" and selected/opened the file. First, i setup up resolution of the video, then i clicked "Preview". Now i want to change Cropping but i cant see the white Overlay to see where im cropping.
I closed the creator and opened it again. now i change Cropping first and now i can see the white Overlay.
If i click "Preview AVS Script" now, i cannot see the Overlay anymore. :(

I found my first bug! (sorry if its been reported already.)
I used megui to convert a 51 minute 29.97fps mpg file to mp4 (took 8 hours!). But after muxing, I found that it had thought that the video was 24fps. I've traced it to the d2v file created from within megui.
I have dgindex installed to it's own directory, but hadn't yet used it. At install, it seems to default to forcing film for pulldowns; the setting is stored in dgindex.ini, which was used when I created the d2v file.
dgindex.ini defaults to force film for pulldowns:
Field_Operation=1
what I needed was for it to honor pulldown flags:
Field_Operation=0
I've set it back and forth, and get the same results. If set to 1, then the d2v mis-classifies my mpg video as being film. When set to 1, it correctly identifies it as video.
I don't know how important this is. I've been hacking away with this program for the better part of 2 months, and am now at a point where I can figure out why my videos aren't as good as I hope.
Thank you for a great program.

Piling on...
Also encountered the job deletion issue
adaptive muxer seems to have a problem with xvid/mp3 output. When I do an autoencode, the xvid and lame encoding output is fine, but the muxed video output in the avi container is junk. File sizes (video+audio != muxed file) don't add up right. I can take the separate video and audo files and mux them with VDM and they're perfect.
Profiles don't import through the update process -- I get a blank selection window when asked to choose the profiles I want to import. This occurred twice with complete uninstall, intall/update passes. However, if I download the profile zips from the megui site and import them via the import command under the file menu, everything works fine.
Specifying output filenames/containers in various places doesn't "stick". For example, if I chood XVID, tell MeGUI to use the MP4 container, I still get an AVI for the video file.

If you have multiple jobs queued and shift-select them all then hit the delete button, you get an exception and have to force kill MeGUI in the task manager. This is totally reproducable.
In one instance, I did the above, and MeGUI wouldn't start anymore, even after a reboot. I had to do a clean install/update of it. I haven't been able to reproduce this one yet - but it's definitely linked to the above bug.

When I encode xvid It goes through all steps fine. When It get the muxing stage I end up with an avi with sound and a black screen. This happens using autoencode. I can manually encode the xvid avi and the audio and mux them externally using avimuxgui and everything is fine. this only happens with xvid and avi container.
well looks like im not the only one with this bug but as another user said 94 pages is alot to go through to see if its already posted. ill leave this post if a mod wants to delete its ok.

EDIT: I tried using the plein avisynth script as generated by D2V-creator with no modifications of my own whatsoever.
The problem is still there. Megui reports the job has error, but leves me no clue to what after 39 MB of encode.
Anyone any idea what it could be, or what info do I have to provide for you to take me seriously?
original message:
Hi, can someone help me figure out whats wrong?
I created an AVS script wich displays nicely in AVSp.
Megui also opens it. But after 4 Megs of encode it skips the job saying it contains errors,
Then the next job (same video, other script), same problem.
Twice.
Leaving me with no idea whatsoever.
I use WinXP SP2, Megui 0241026

Hey everyone.. Not sure if this bug has been reported, but I'm not too excited about sifting through 94 pages :D
Anyway, it's still in the latest version and has been there for a long time. Basically, if you go into the configuration for x264, under the RC and ME tab there are lots of options as we all know. Sometimes it's nice to be able to use the 'tab' key on the keyboard to iterate through all the options, especially keyframe interval and min gop size. Unfortunately, when you do this, it doesn't iterate in any logical order! :)
for example, enter a value for keyframe interval, hit tab, and you will be in the noise reduction box two boxes down!!! Not too important, but it irritates me!

Sorry, just saw the bug was psoted before.
---
Got the following problem with MeGui:
- whenever I use AutoEncode to create an avi(xvid/mp3), the avi ist broken.
- if I manually queue the streams there's not problem
- if I use another container, there's no problem
(And no neither avi-mux gui nor the adaptive muxer in megui can remux the stream to avi, so a workaround like first convert to mkv then remux doesn't work :()
Would be nice if this could be fixed.

Thanks. VDM muxes fine.
MeGUI's muxer's got the issues (not just for me but for many people).
It's no real problem. It would just be a lot easier if the Megui muxer would automatically mux - save me about 10 seconds of opening up VDM - or other muxer - and muxing there.

I'm pretty sure this is an issue with the order in which the boxes are drawn.

I figured maybe the VOB vould be corrupt (if even possible)?
I randomly encoded a video,
(avi -> quicktime proflie, no post processing -> x264)
Log says output is succesful, yet displays a weird bitrate
"encoded 21611 frames, 4.77 fps, 1388590.28 kb/s "
And the output shows nothing but black.
I uninstalled Megui, end downloaded megui again,
reinstalled.
encoded a video with standard profile. no pst processing
again same error
Now tell me what did I didnt try yet or havent done to try and figure it out myself?
Nobody wants to help me? no?

Thanks. VDM muxes fine.
MeGUI's muxer's got the issues (not just for me but for many people).
It's no real problem. It would just be a lot easier if the Megui muxer would automatically mux - save me about 10 seconds of opening up VDM - or other muxer - and muxing there.
when i said vdm has issues with ac3 i meant if you try cutting the avi, there have been reports that it knocks it out of sync - believe this only happens with ac3 tho
@bananacreamandpeca
try it without spaces and the + in the folder and file names

Ok. I never really do XviD with AC3 - always do MP3.
But I'll keep that AVI MUX GUI just in case.
Thanks again

@bananacreamandpeca
why did you post that log? It's something with x264 crashing. Run x264 from the command line and see if it crashes and or closes without outputting any info.
Your error is likely a result of faulty ram or an overclocked/unstable system.

@ottar
you have to point them to where the file actually sits, defaultly it sits under
eg C:\Program Files\megui\tools\xvid_encraw\extra\some.xcm
or look here :)

@ ottar
When I put them in the directory
\megui\tools\xvidencraw\extra
it doesn't find them
I gotta find it manually (which is no big deal - and only takes about 5 seconds). Then I just update the profile so that I don't have to do it again next time
Click 'config' > zones > quantizer matrix and then just make sure you find the right one (the name is already listed there). Note that for different profiles, the matrix is different.

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but only noticed it since the new x264 revision, so I'm sorry if this is the wrong place.
After finishing a successful encode, MeGUI seems to hold on to 100% cpu usage until it's closed completely (whereas x264 would've been using it during the encode, and then drop to idle afterwards).
Edit: Sorry, ignore this. I noticed it only seems to be the case when Process Explorer is running at the same time (I was checking thread amounts of x264). Probably a bug with PE.

well i updated everything including megui but i still have a problem
there is always a delay when encoding audio in megui
the delay change depending on the source sometime less than 200ms and sometime more than a 1sec
it does not matter what audio codec NeroAAC, lame... i use to encode the audio i still have the delay
the delay amount does not change when i change audio codec only change when using other source (this happen when using audio in video or even at normal mp3)
i tried differents sources in avi, mkv, and ogm and have this problem.
since the amount change everytime i cant keep encoding and trying to guess the amount to adjust it manually :(
Edit:: when i compare the source and megui encoded audio file the megui is shorter
source anime episode: 24min26sec
megui output: 24min13sec
same thing with a mp3
source mp3 music:2min0sec
megui output:1min58sec
whats the cause of this ?

holzi: strange, what is the video source? As for #2, I think that's just lack of bothering on the part of the devs.
We use DirectShowSource not AviSource even for AVIs, because AVISource works less often -- it requires a VFW playback filter, instead of just a DirectShow playback filter.

when deleting a job in MeGUI this error arises:Can you be more specific about this error please? I can't reproduce.
EDIT: Never mind, I found the source of it... it should be fixed.

Profiles don't import through the update process -- I get a blank selection window when asked to choose the profiles I want to import. This occurred twice with complete uninstall, intall/update passes. However, if I download the profile zips from the megui site and import them via the import command under the file menu, everything works fine.Profile import from the web only works from versions 1025 and above. So, if you try to update everything at once, then the profile import will fail. However, profile import should work once you've updated MeGUI (I will check this, though).
Specifying output filenames/containers in various places doesn't "stick". For example, if I chood XVID, tell MeGUI to use the MP4 container, I still get an AVI for the video file.Ummm.... in the main window in MeGUI, you *can't* select XviD and MP4.... please elaborate.

In latest stable (0.2.4.1026) version don't work:
1) "Advanced Tooltip";
2) "Audio" and "Video" textboxes in second tab of settings don't save the settings.

Maybe these threads (bug/feature req) should be locked and replaced with a single stick info post?

23976,xxxxx FPS... is a bit high... it's the usual localization problem (swapped decimal al thousands separators).
Set you windows locale settings to use the dot (.) for separing decimals and the comma (,) for separing thousands...

I upgraded MeGui last night for the first time in months...and now it seems like it crashes every time I try to create an avisynth script. I open an m2ts file in the avisynth script creation dialog and it hangs and eventually crashes.
A friend of mine at work also said that lately megui has been crashing a lot in the middle of encoding. He's running XP 64bit and I'm running Vista 32 bit.
Here is what my crash looks like:
