Sharktooth,
Did you see my post above about the error generated when trying to mux ac3 only with autoencode since updating MEGUI?
http://forum.doom9.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=6336&d=1162135662
Same error people were getting back in January but it just seemed to "go away"...

Probably a problem with your installed decoders.
Check if the AVS file plays correctly in MPC...
tnx...
no don't think it s a decoder problem
i'll tryed coreavc , ffdshow , cyberlink
do you try to convert the .raw to mp4 with megui ? what i posted :

Try encoding the audio separately with the same encoder but with a different tool (SNG or behappy).
Ensure you have the latest encoder version (neroaac 1.0.0.2) and check if the problem persists. If it does, then it's a nero encoder problem and you should inform nero about that.
Well, it boiled down to QuickTime sucking monkey-balls as a media-player.. The audio-files play just fine in foobar2000, and even though I can't get sound on Ronin (the movie) in QT, I get it when I put the mux'ed movie into foobar2000 too.. Ronin (the movie) is "bugged" in iTunes, but plays fine on my iPod.. Go figure.. So I retracted the report...

possibly the audio is HE-AAC? QT components only support AAC-LC

Uhm.. no... however the link is invalid and the megui version hasnt changed for a while...
So i fail to see how you hadnt problems few weeks ago and now it doesnt work.
Probably it's a bad ac3 stream.

My audio-profile is as follows: (o= not checked, v= checked)
o Force Decoding via DirectShow
Output Channels: Downmix to Stereo
v Increase Volume automatically
v Improve Accuracy using 32-bit & Float computations
o Delay Correction
CBR 128kbit/sec
AAC-profile: AAC-LC
o Create hint track
Like I said, I have problems getting sound on some movies in QT, but they play fine in foobar2000 and on my iPod..
EDIT:
I can see one thing they all have in common..
I have two movies and four OVA episodes (of wich 2 are bugged, see here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=117630)), and they are as follows:
Ronin: 2h1m19s (no sound in QT, plays fine on my iPod)
The Boondock Saints: 1h48m21s (plays fine both in QT and on my iPod)
Samurai X Trust/Betrayal OVA Ep.1: 28m54s (plays fine both in QT and on my iPod)
Samurai X Trust/Betrayal OVA Ep.2: 29m01s + 1h59m19s of white at the end (plays without sound on QT, doesn't play more than 5s at a time on my iPod)
Samurai X Trust/Betrayal OVA Ep.3: 30m42s (plays fine both in QT and on my iPod)
Samurai X Trust/Betrayal OVA Ep.4: 30m49s + 1h59m18s of white at the end (plays without sound on QT, doesn't play more than 5s at a time on my iPod)
As you can see, all the movies that cross the 2h marker don't have sound, the ones below do (and the two bugged Samurai X episodes play just fine with sound and no white at the end in Zoom Player..

i mean a decoder problem with the raw stream...
did you try to play the avs in MPC?
ha ok
you are right
i played the avs , i doesn't play correctly
it use the wrong filters : avi decompressor (yuy2)
video mixing render9 (renderless)
what can i do
i decrease the avi decompressor priority to (do not use) with DSFM directshow filter manager 0.5
and than could'nt play it
than i need to install an other filter?
do you know something what i can use ?
why doesn't it use the same filter's when i play the .raw ?
thanks for helping
it s not a bug with megui than lol :D

Oh, just remembered a bug that has been annoying me a lot..
I'm encoding stuff for my iPod, and I don't care about fitting stuff onto various optical media, so I want to encode my videos with 700kbit/sec datarate.. (700kbit give plenty quality for iPod-viewing and doesn't take much space)
I've set this in the iPod 5.5-profile (I think that's what the text-box to the right of "Bandwidth" is for), but meGUI keeps trying to make 700MB files, so I have to pop by the bitrate calculator before encoding or I end up with movies that use 3500+ kbit/sec..
Any way around this?

You should forward the issue to akupenguin (the main x264 developer a.k.a. pengvado).
However before doing that lets see if it is a real x264 bug coz i had no problems in using multiple threads.
Is your CPU overclocked?
hanti
6th November 2006, 18:51
yes
but at standard freq i have the same prob
and not only me --> http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=117074&highlight=requested+bitrate+is+too+low
btw u have c2d processor ? maybe this works fine with athlonx2 and pentiumD
maybe shared L2 cache in c2d its a problem :P
but if u have c2d i dont know whats is wrong .. then i think is smth wrong with my computer/os itp
Sharktooth

Is the encode deterministic? i.e. if you run the 1st pass again, do you get the same stats file?
What if you use "--threads 1 --thread-input"?
What if you compile without threads? (patch)

Heya Folk,
I see it's been brought up before:
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=849884#post849884
However I'm seeing some massive memory leaks in the Interlace detection thingo when detecting a large interlaced dgindex file, maybe made worse as I had an x264 job running in the Q. Seems to loose chunks of memory regarless, but it lost abour 400MB+ on one particular detection.

I'd like to report a cosmetic bug that has been there since the beginning while using bbLean, a window manager replacing explorer.
All is fine and dandy at first thusly
http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l35/tommykatkins/stuff/megui_1.jpg
But when any file selection dialog opens up, and only then
http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l35/tommykatkins/stuff/megui_2.jpg
megui loses the 'skin' from the window it was opened from. Megui is the second app I've ever encountered that does this. Dunno if it's fixable but thought to let the devs know nevertheless :)

I was wondering if anyone has noticed something along the lines of the stream information.txt no longer working in MeGUI.
It was working up to a point but some time ago on my system it stopped working in the D2V Creator and pops up the error message below. After that you just manually select which track, it is a bug or something wrong with my setup as I deleted the MeGUI folder & downloaded all the files again but it made no difference

Not sure if this has been reported yet and it may be just my computer setup but heres something annoying ive seen. I apologize if this isn't a megui bug.
1- Create a d2v from a vob file using megui.
2- Rename or move or delete the vob file referenced by the d2v
3- Attempt to open the d2v in the avisynth script creator, youll get an error message saying the input files could not be found
4- Try to delete or edit the d2v file. From here on out Windows seems to think the file is in use and there doesnt appear to be any way to edit or delete the file without rebooting windows.

Nothing we can do. It's not a megui bug but rather a window manager bug.

Sorry I do not recall it wasn't something major so I ignored it for the most part but curiosity eventually got the better of me which is why I posted here.
I have the latest version 0.2.3.2192 on both my systems (AMD, nForce 4), strange thing is I decided to borrow a laptop from a mate yesterday (Intel,915) and copied my MeGUI install directly over to his laptop and got the same errors.
After some further experimenting I found a workaround if I delete everything related to the subtitles in the stream information.txt leaving only the audio & video info the file is accepted by the D2V Creator so it looks like problem solved in a way.

@oddball, more info please :) "cryptic error message" is of little use to us as the actual message is to you ;).
@scif: thanks. this was presumeably due to a change in the GUI which wasn't reflected in the contexthelp a while back.
@chip: interesting, you'll have to wait for doom9 to see as he's the only person who has poked that functionality afaik.

I am having a problem with interlace detection in megui 2192. Everytime i try to detect interlacing with the algorithm, I get a error about not having tivtc in my avisynth folder. I most certainly do. I do have a newer version however, 1.000 RC7. Maybe that has something to do with it? I will download the version from the megui server and see if that fixes it.
In the mean time, here is the error:
http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d125/Merlin7777/meguiproblem.jpg
It looks like you guys may be possibly aware of this problem, as the update windows shows the switch from tivtc rc7 to rc 6. Let me test to be sure.

Oh, okay. Yah, I tested with RC 8 as well and it too produces the error. RC 6 doesn't. Ill keep that in mind.
Thanks for the response. Sorry if this was already covered, I just didn't feel like coming through the past 20 pages or so on a dialsuck connection.

If you want to leave the greyscale option where it is in MeGUI and have it affect the whole encode, add the G flag to all existing zones or if there aren't any make a new weight 1.0 zone starting at frame 0 e.g. -zones 0,w,1,G
Since it's a zone option though it might be better to move the setting onto the Zones tab page.

I just used DGIndex via MeGUI on a PAL dvd. The number of frames that is shown in the Avisynth Script Creator is not correct (114560, while the correct number is 143200).
The film length and audio bitrate stated in the bitrate calculator are probably because of this also incorrect.
When I use the exact same version of DGIndex directly (outside MeGUI), the d2v file is correct (143200 frames). The film length and audio bitrate are then also correct in the Bitrate Calculator.

MeGUI detected that force film was required, and adjusted accordingly. This caused the frame count to be reduced to 80% (143200 * 80% = 114560), and the framerate *should* have been adjusted accordingly. Are you sure it hasn't?

Bug at the latest (0.2.4.1005) and this http://www.savefile.com/files/345598 version:
The sharktoth profiles are totally unuseable for me.
Try on the main page:
- select an avs input
- seletct eg. HQ-Insane
- press config
- at the mode select: Const quality (it should do a 1pass encode)
- press OK here, then press Enqueue: see at the queue tab that megui created a 2pass encode
And the bigger problem is that the complete profile system is broken: if you enter a bitrate (eg. 4000) at Automated 2pass mode, it will do the default 1000 kbps encode :(
At least I could see that how amazing the codec at 1000 kbps with a 1280*720 resolution ... :)
Edit: I can circumvent the problem until it will be fixed: after I have choosed the HQ-Insane profile, select the desired setting then press new.

I'm not sure what you mean. Where do you mean the framerate should have been adjusted accordingly?
After creating the 80% avisynthscript, I used the Bitrate Calculator and found out there were some 'strange' things. I didn't start an encode, because of the values in the Bitrate Calculator.

When core updated itself from 0.2.3.2192 to 0.2.4.1005, d2v creation became buggy.
I work from MPEG-2 TV captures (NTSC), so the framerate should be 29.970 (so that I can properly run IVTC or ->60fps conversion on it). However, looking at the d2v the framerate gets written out as 23976 (24000/1001). This is wrooong.
Running dgindex manually, I get the correct framerate written in the d2v file.

@Limobar: it seems like you have an interesting video, which is FILM (normally 29.376fps) but is actually 25fps. I would appreciate it if you could do a few things for me:
Create a d2v file without using MeGUI (so the fps is correct -- 25fps). Send it to me (or upload it here). I'm particularly interested in the very beginning and the end.
Tell me whether this source is genuinely film, which means that two out of every five frames are combed. If you can recognise this yourself, then please do. If not, run your 25fps d2v file through MeGUI's interlace detection (in Avisynth window) and tell me what it says. It would be better to use 0.2.3.2193 for that, since it actually works right now, and it also provides more diagnostic information.
If you want to encode your video right now, then just skip MeGUI for the DGIndex step, and everything should be fine.

This is a result of automatic force film detection which MeGUI runs, which will trigger DGDecode's IVTC if deemed necessary. If you want to overrule this, then you can turn Auto Force Film off in the settings.

What exactly "deems" it necessary? The file is 100% "video". There is *NO* reason why it should be detected as film.
Frankly, with the default settings it now fucks up all encodes made from TV captures. This *should not happen*.

It didn't work. The output file was 'file.264' which overwrote my old file.264 (which, in some people's cases had been 12-hour encode suddenly lost).
This is the simplest case possible--load avs, save file. And it failed. It didn't save the file with the right name, instead overwriting the old one. Just thought I should report this little yet huge bug before more people start complaining (to me of all people!) that their MeGUI doesn't work.

im adding (in the free time) FTP support to autoupdater. it will be able to get files (and check for updates) from nero FTP...
as long as <ignore updates for this file> isn't checked, MeGUI still persists on updating neroaacenc...
maybe Christmas is a good time for adding FTP support... :)
that would be very nice and therefore thank you in advance...

nonetheless adding a FTP check out isn't illegal per se ...
in that case a pop-up message, like "a new version of neroaacenc is available. go to nerodigital (http://www.nero.com/nerodigital/eng/Nero_Digital_Audio.html) to download the latest version" would be a smart way...
when MeGUI is installed for the first time, an empty neroaac folder could be generated under \tools and it is the decision of the user if he/she is willing to download the nero aac encoder and place the files in that empty folder...
just a thought...

Yo, Sharktooth! I am still having that update problem again. Every time I try to update the Megui core, it fails. Also and I think this was reported in a different thread.
Megui no longer pops up the progress box on the 2nd pass.
edit: Even If I set threads to auto (0) it still encodes with threads 2.
Even though the command line viewer in the video config dialog shows the correct setting.
With Megui results are

13.44fps 2nd pass
Command line with threads auto
75.27fps first pass

When I make my AAC file from AC3 it comes out almost 2 minutes shorter. I did the same for another DVD and the same thing happened. AAC file always a few minutes shorter. I'm using MeGUI + its Nero encoder and DGIndex Forced Film. Could this be due to the frame rate difference? Will it sync properly if I mux the AAC with my video?
All I did was use Rip4Me, then DGIndex (launched separately from MeGUI), then all the MeGUI stuff.

For clarification, this "1000" bitrate probably comes from the currently selected profile settings. It shouldn't override whatever bitrate I specify in AutoEncode.

@Sharktooth
Do I have to do this every time? I can live with it, I just would rather not. Do you know what is causing this?
MeGUI runs another program upon closing which waits 2 seconds and then replaces MeGUI.exe with the new version. Perhaps MeGUI doesn't shut down in those 2 seconds, keeping the write protection on MeGUI.exe and preventing the update....

Oh and in the queue list it does not let me right click to postpone a job. I found this feature very useful if I just wanted to finish a job up, load a game/movie, and continue my queue later. :sly:
This is is a bug. Right-click should open a menu. I'll look at it later.

And the good old Autostart Queue doesn't work with AutoEncode.
Also, could you re-implement the a/v file source autodetection (i.e. If I select file.avs for video, file.avs would automatically be selected for audio too unless changed by the user)?

More juicy bugs:
While in safe profile alteration mode, it doesn't let you change any settings unless you make a whole new profile to do so. This is different from the behavior of 0.2.3.2192, which allowed you to tweak options at will but simply not update the profile with them.

i think he means in the main form. when selecting the avs for video, you should also manually select an audio source.
that wont be good for DVDs though...
Maybe we can add something in the avisynth creator. Just a checkbox to use the same .avs for audio and automatically fill the audio input textbox on script creator close.

Hey
I'm not sure if this is the right thread to be posting in .. . but here goes . .
I just updated MeGUI with the autoupdate - updated 'core' and 'x264' - and tried a few encodings from mpeg-2 (d2v) to x264 and the file sizes are way off. I used the 'AutoEncode' and set the output filesize to 200MB and it turned out something like 173MB.
I haven't had this problem before updating. It was always pretty spot on with filesize before I updated yesterday.
I later tried setting the filesize using the 'Bitrate Calculator' and then just 'No Target Size (Use profile settings)' in 'AutoEncode' and that worked pretty perfect. The filesize was 199.8 MB.
Is there something wrong with the core or x264 update ?
Or is something else the problem ?

The desired filesize of 2000MB is right, but it turns out being 173 MB or therebouts and only 1000kbps instead of something closer to 1200kbps like I've selected.

spanky123 I'm getting the same problem as you anything through auto encode when you select a file size comes out undersized.
I normally use the 2100MB 3 CD's setting but every time I use it the file comes out at 950-1000MB in size.
I'm also getting the same fatal error warning from MeGUI someone else mentioned a few posts back when you tick the box for add additional connect and click on Queue.
Running the latest version of MeGUI and x264.
I had encountered one other bug in the the audio was way off (not in sync with video) with the encodes but the most recent update to x264 seems to have corrected it or at least the test I did this morning had.

Yeah. Mine just uses the profile settings (which is always 1000kbps for HQ-Slow) instead of overwriting that bitrate and forcing the new filesize/bitrate.
You can use the bitrate calculator and then 'apply' to change the bitrate in the profile for each encoding so that you hit the desired file size. That works.
Autoencode is a bit easier though. Hopefully it gets fixed.

fixed my update issue. I was using an Auto update xml file that I brought with me from a different computer, so all of the files were going to c:\program files\x264. My mistake.

Another bug. Maybe. When Automatically set Threads is enabled for x264, I get 2 threads. Shouldn't it be to --threads auto? Maybe we just have to turn auto set threads off?
If I do that then the profiles for x264 show threads=1 in the config window. Instead of 0. But that may be expected.
Lastly, on the second pass, when auto set threads in Megui is turned off, and threads are set to 0 in the profile config window, I get no separate window for Encoding the second pass. Sure it shows up on the first pass, but not the second. Encoding still continues, I just can't see the frame rate and such.

Ok Sharktooth. I have read the wiki. And it confirmed my own thoughts. Thanks for pointing it out by the way.
About that last comment of mine.
What I was saying was this. When I run a two pass encode, the progress window, containing number of frames, current framerate and so on, doesn't show up on the second pass.
Actually, this is not always true. My last encode the dialog showed up corretly, which is great but kind of weired. Considering how the first encode I ran didn't give me the second pass dialog, I am a little confused.
I will run some more tests and report back.

Is it just me who is facing this problem ???
Or is it a feature? If it is, I liked the old way much better.
And with this feature the situation was getting much worse:

@wadim: I have remarked on the development thread that I don't know what is causing the problem with large fonts. This means that I can't fix it for the time being, and I think that my time would be better spent fixing bugs that I know how to solve. At the moment you have two choices: discard large fonts, or go back to MeGUI 0.2.3.2193.

I don't actually see a bug in the behavior, but it might be somewhat unintuitive. Just to clear things up, you have to press 'Update' before closing the window, or the changes you make will be ignored.

Well... you MUST update a profile, or settings will not be saved...

the problem is that all sizes and positions are offset by a factor of ~1.5 or ~1.4. i was writing a program once and manually set all positions in the OnSize Handler with SetWindowPosition(). With large fonts, the positioning and sizing was messed up. My fix was to simply divide all the values by 1.5 if large fonts are enabled.
i don't know how megui is doing this, though. could you at least please move the "encode" button somewhere we can see it (maybe top right of the window), that would be sufficient and we can use the program again.
btw, we have "large fonts" enabled for a reason, with 1280 resolutions and upwards the normal font size is so small that my eyes start to hurt very soon....

As for problems with opening avs files, does a simple version() script work? If so, keep adding filters til you find the one that gives the problem.
When I open an avs file, containing just version(), I get the same error.
Opening the version() avs in MPC I find out about the version of avisynth. :)

Then why, half a year after this was brought up, does upgrade.xml still have these lines:
<neroaacenc type="file">
<filepath version="2006-05-08">naac_20060508.zip</filepath>
<filepath version="2006-05-26">naac_20060526.zip</filepath>
</neroaacenc>
A full year ago you were asked to remove these lines, instead you make people suffer non-stop confusing upgrade errors, with no more than a faq a few particularly frustrated people might go looking for to explain how to fix it. All you have ever had to do to fix it was remove those lines pointing to non-existant zips from upgrade.xml! (Or replace them with empty zips if it suits your fancy.)

Really, really painful to use now. As DTS pointed out, no way to create custom one-off settings; you either have to ruin a profile or create random junk profiles. Entirely unintuitively, using no will reset the profile and close the dialog, leaving you to think you are using them without saving them, but you aren't using them at all! It should also only come up at all with safe profile alteration, I imagine, because it gets annoying fast.
Correct behavior should be that Yes saves the profile, while No saves the current settings to the session and applies them to the encode, like the 21xx versions did, but of course doesn't touch the profile. If you have to have a hidden __session__ profile to do it, great.

I select for example an audio-profile (NDAAC HE64kbit), change to LC-ACC, 0,12 Quality, press "New", give profile a new name. Confirm all.
Now when I select the new profile in Mainwindow the audio configuration window shows again the HE 64kbit profile. I have to choose the profiles tab in the audio configuration window to choose my new profile and see the made changes.
All "old" profiles are directly shown when selected in main window and config is pressed.

heh I really wish I could provide some type of error message however I did do some testing.
It appears that if megui is manually updated after the autoupdater fails (did you guys change something because it used to work perfectly before) the issue occurs. If reverted back all jobs enqueued show up.
If you get it to update automatically the problem doesn't occur.
I'm going to put this in the bugs that only occur under wierd and not often likely situations.

My MeGUI is 0.2.4.1008. I can't update it because update host at 64.74.232.24 doesn't contain neither XML file nor anything else (domain registration expired?).
I've noticed bug in profile handling. If entry in SelectedProfiles.xml points to non-existing video profile(which was deleted manually outside the program) MeGUI just quits during startup.
In order to make MeGUI start I had to manually edit SelectedProfiles.xml and replace <string>My Profile<string> to <string />.

Another bug (0.2.4.1008):
Prelude: I have a profile that uses x264 in 2-pass mode. Profile is tuned to 1st of 2 passes.
1. I open AVS file, then I select my profile and press "Enqueue". Everything is fine in Queue tab.
2. I keep AVS file, keep profile, then press "Config" button and change mode from "2pass - 1st pass" to "2pass - 2nd pass". Then I press "OK" and "Enqueue". And when I go to the Queue tab I see 2 jobs there. Interesting thing that both jobs have mode "2pass - 1st pass".
I think it's a relatively new bug because I didn't have it on earlier builds(dated more that half of year ago).
BTW, where can I get latest sources? I can handle some problems by myself. I've downloaded SVN sources from sourceforge.net, but it contains very old versions in tag folder, and one from branches\dll can't be compiled due to missing of branches\old:
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Microsoft.CSharp.targets(63,9): error MSB3041: Unable to create a manifest resource name for "..\old\megui_profiles\core\gui\PackageManagerForm.resx". No not the only one. I'm a first time MeGUI user, and didn't want to wreck the nicely configured profiles so said no to overwriting/saving changes to profile. I expected that the changes I had made would still be utilised for the session - most programs I've used seem to work this way - choose a preset and it becomes a temporary custom one as soon as you change anything.
I now have to go back and re-encode for another 12 hours to see what my first proper MeGUI output looks like. :(

This happens whenever I try to erase certain jobs like linked jobs from AutoEncode (especially when megui is encoding something else on the list).
i can confirm this - using 2.4.1022 - if you del say job-1.1 it will delete the job (and all others in the que) and flip up an error, if you try to close megui by pressing the x on the top corner another error pops up and the only way to kill it is to open task manager and kill the process

Another thing with the update:
it doesn't seem to download the TXvid profiles. It says it downloaded but doesn't have anything to import when you update
also, all the cqm files and that that are needed for the xvid encoding profiles aren't there

i didnt made those profiles... however the cqm files are not provided.

@Sharktooth or any dev - any update on the other two issues i posted about - megui saying most of the interlaced films im trying to do are progressive and the queue analysis pass not turning up in the que when selected ?

would it be possible to provide part of the source? So that it can be investigated using your actual conditions.

It crashes a lot with me now. First it crashed when I just updated the TXvid profiles, then it crashes when I try delete jobs from the queue.
And then it doesn't start again. It just crashes (send error report) before it opens up properly
It's not an unstable system either i dont think. Never had this problem until a couple days ago.

@spanky, try reinstalling megui, and the .net framework for good measure. It's as stable as a rock here.

Hi,
Since I have updated to 1020 or 1022 today, MeGUI no longer works for me on my x86_64 Windows.
If I use a x86 version of Windows, I have no issues whatsoever.
The issue(s) I have:
When opening an DV2 file I get an error that looks like it is unable to find the AVS filter to decode the DV2 file. Ahh... I say to myself, maybe my filters are missing / messed up. Nope, they are all in my Avisynth directory.
So then I go check the Settings-Program Paths information on MeGUI. HEY! What happened to my plugins directory?!?!? It's blank now, no listing of a directory. That's OK, I will just manually add it! OK, so I pick my directory and I get-
"MeGUI encountered a fatal error and may not be avle to proceed. Reason: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Source of exception: MeGUI stacktrace: at MeGUI.MeGUISettings.set_AvisynthPluginsPath(String value)
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnClick(EventArgs e)
at System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnMouseUp(MouseEventArgs mevent)
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmMouseUp(Message& m, MouseButtons button, Int32 clicks)
at System.Windows.Forms.Control. WndProc(Message& m)
at System.Windows.Forms.ButtonBase.WndProc(Message& m)
at System.Windows.Forms.Button.WndProc(Message & m)
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m)
at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)
Well shoot. So I check to make sure it's not a path issue by moving the directory to a location with no spaces in the path off the root. No luck.
I also tried copying over the settings.xml file from my working x86 Windows machine, and the Avisynth directory is still blank.
Just so I can add as much as possible, this was not an issue prior to 1020 or maybe 1019. I manually updated from the x264.nl site because the auto update server wasn't working any more.
I even tried copying the entire MeGUI directory from my working x86 machine to my x86_64 machine, but the problem happens only on x86_64.
I am going back to using the last available working version (2.3.2193) and update everything I can before it breaks (no profiles, etc). I would appreciate it if the 2.4.1019 or prior version could be made available. I hate going this far back as none of my created profiles work any more.
I am also willing to be a tester for any version you guys produce. I am anxious to go back to using the current version of the best encoder available!
Thanks

Hi,
I reinstalled .net 2.0 x64 as was suggested in prior posts. I still get the same error.
I rolled back to 0.2.4.1005 and the problems went away. I will be staying on this until we can get this issue worked out or until I can get a later version.
Thanks for all the great work!

Maybe. I've reinstalled megui 2 times already. Maybe I'll reinstall then .NET framework. I've actually got 1.1 and 2.0 on the one machine. There's nothing wrong with that is there ?
Another problem was that the xvid encodings seemed to encode ok, but they turn out kinda blurry and all messed up colours.
Here's a screenshot of what they look like when played in VLC
http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/3317/vlcsnap439668aw2.png
In MPC it's pretty much the same, except the green is grey
I got no idea what's goin on. I also encode to xvid with GK and that's still working perfectly. So I don't think there's anything wrong with any filter or xvid encoder/decoder. The problem is somewhere in my megui xvid profiles or those cqm files i think.
Also, x264 is working perfect also in megui

no, both framework versions is fine. Anyway, what happens if you run the xvidencraw commandline from the commandline or as a batch?

Sounds like whoever is compiling it has forgotten the /platform:x86 switch. If you really want to use the latest version you'll need a utility called corflags.exe to manually mark MeGUI as a 32-bit runtime.
