Does anyone have a luminance filter like Xmpeg for flask? Can one be
made from Xmpeg's?

if you are getting into encoding enough to be wanting filters then take the step up from flask

If you know Photoshop (or any other good paint program), you will enjoy the "level" filter for VirtualDub, it can also apply gamma correction. And for a perfect view on PC monitors, you may also want to enhance the chrominance (this is limited in DVD video, too), here the HSL filter may be useful.

About the "step up from flask": You can use Flask or Xmpeg as well as other DVD/MPEG decoders, with frameserving or with an intermediate AVI, as long as VirtualDub won't read VOBs directly - but then you have the opportunity to optimise your video for the final compression with VirtualDub (or Nandub, if you may like SBC for DivX 3.11).

I am very familiar with Photoshop, and gamma corrections. The Vdub HSL filter isn't able to quite do the job without blowing out the highlights, or color shifting problems. THe chrominance filter is close too, but not as good as Xmpeg's "Luminance" filter. I'm a photographer; so I'm kinda anal about shadow detail, and highlight detail as well. I prefer Xmpeg's video output with luminance set to about 20-25 over Flask's. However, Flask seems to handle audio better..so I'd like to just find a way to add the filter in Xmpeg to Flask if possible.
