Using Rebuilder 1.05.2, with HC Best, Full Backup, no problems until the very end
when "There appears to have been an ISO write error. ISO image was NOT successfully written"
The only pre - preparation was to use DVD Decrypter and mount with daemon tools.
Apart from Uninstalling and starting again are there any suggestions as to what
I might look for ?

Did you use the Installer, or did you set up from the "Updates Only" zip file? That error indicates one of these circumstances:
1. The program MKISOFS.EXE or it's library (CYGWIN1.DLL) doesn't exist (unlikely, but possible).
2. MKISOFS has returned an error condition when DVD-RB asked it to create the ISO image. The most common cause for this is running out of disc space. Another possibility is that the specified VOLUME LABEL for the ISO is longer than 32 characters (its limit).

I used the installer. have now unistalled and reinstalled. This time I tried CCE Basic - much faster. The only problem was that for each segment there were messages saying
"possible dropped frame" - 5 to 7 such messages per segment. But I did get my ISO and the end product looks fine.
Will now try again with HC
Just finished my 3rd attempt - this time using HC - ISO created without any trouble. I never cease to be amazed at how problems disappear follow a clean re-install. I clearly changed something previosly that I should have left alone.
HC took 266 minutes to encode compared with CCE Basic 110 minutes.
will now burn both and see if my post New Year Celebration eyes can see any difference,

I should have looked more closely. My attempt to back up using Rebuilder 1.05.02, and CCE Basic to ISO did work - after a fashion - but not as expected.
The ISO size is 3,421,182 KB and the Rebuilder.log keeps making reference to
possible Dropped frames.
I have been able to back this up with HC but not with CCE Basic.
any thoughts ?

Is your PC overclocked by any chance?
CCE does NOT like PC's that are Overclocked.

No its a basic pentium 4 3.2 running windows Xp - dedicated to backing up. Nothing is or ever has been overclocked. The only programs running relate to DVD - Rebuilder. No overclocking nor anything unusual. 2 160 gig sata drives with 100+ gig free. Having googled I have discovered that others have had the same dropped frames problem so my guess is that the fault lies with CCE.
To me it is not really important. There are 6 episodes on the dvd. putting 3 episodes on a disk gives me 5000 + bitrate compared to 2600 average on one disk. Knowing nothing about technical matters here all I can say is that DVD Pro and CCE with other disks works fine. DVD Pro and HC works with this disk. The problem disk has episodes (not entirely suited to DVD Pro) and has some interleved sections.
