nero recode2 and shrink can't handle the new macrovision and/or ripgard files even after ripping the files with decrypter or fabdecrypter(the last version of fab is using the word "hopefully" when talking about handling those files). usually the files have to be run thru vobBlanker ot FixVTS so shrink and recode can process them. my question is. one i ripped the files to my hD, will Rebuilder be able to handle them?
clonedvd2, dvd2one v2 and 1clickdvd copy are handling RipGard and new ARccoSS files without help from vobBlanker or FixVts but, they aren't Rebuilder in terms of quality.

i know im not jdobbs, but..
on the front page of doom9 there is a link to the new "DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.6.6 has an improved copy engine that should make postprocessing with VobBlanker or FixVTS superfluous and compatibility with DVD Shrink has been improved."
Are you referring to this new version? or the old ones

You can take a look here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=755882#post755882). I asked the same question. Maybe you will get a clearer answer as to how it gets handled. I haven't had any problems though and as I said in that post most of the time, I just read the disc from the DVD drive without ripping.

i was thinking that if little programs like dvd2one, 1clickdvd and recode2 can handle the file by themself, the great Rebuilder should also do. i did dark water by ripping with decrypter and compressing with dvd2one and clonedvd2(made two copie)with no problems.
come on, if they can do it, why can't Rebuilder?

????
I backed up "Dark Water" by simply ripping it and running DVD Rebuilder.
Just to be clear... DVD Rebuilder is not, nor will it ever be a "ripping" or "decrypting" program. Is that the question here?
BTW... I've never used any additional programs for a backup other than a ripper (DVD Decrypter, DVD Fab, or AnyDVD) and DVD-RB... and they all play correctly. Are you sure you've ever actually needed to do it?

@jdobbs. thanks for the reply, and to answer your question, no i have not try to backup any of those difficult movies(dark water, brothers grimm) with rebuilder yet. i just wanted to know if RB were able to handle them. well, you backup dark water with RB, so i think that answers my question.
p:s: i know RB is neither a ripping nor a decrypting program.
once again thanks everyone, specially jdobbs.

As JDOBBS mentioned, DVD-REBUILDER is for the prupose of compressing with high quality only.
It has NO features to circumvent copy p[rotection.
Also ANYDVD and DVDDECRYPTOR are all I need for sucesfully ripping ANY DVD.
But, I also use DVD-REMAKE-PRO to get rit of the copy protection areas asd they have 'undefined' material in it.
Then I have a clean RIP , with NO left overs of the copy protection.
IOW: It's a standard DVD rip, with removed 'undefined' material.
If you feed this to DVD-REBUILDER is flawlessly does it's job....
Be aware for rippers that can handle copy protrection baswed on read-errors such as DVDFAB and ANYDVD, if there are read errors that are in the non-protected area they can be 'hidden' and not show up, while there is a REAL read-error caused bij dirty, bad quality, scratched or otherwise damaged discs.
I first try DVDDECRYPTOR here (R2), not using ANYDVD.
If that gives problems witrh READ-ERRORS it cannot solve as a copy protection scheme, I always clean the DVD and try again with ANYDVD latest version, which always works.
DVD-REMAKE-PRO is a must, if you want to create absolutely error free input by removing the copy protection left overs such as the command abacadabra and the skipped cells with undefined material in it.
Some people think this is compliant stuff, but it isn't and CAN (not SHALL) interfer with the correct working of DVD-RB (and related encoders)
Often you also have a complete VOB or VTS set that's not used, and that's uptill now often the last set on the protected DVD where DVD-DECRYPTER gives an error 'PATCHING IFO, BUP FILE'. Don't worry, you can simply ignore the set.

I did Brothers Grimm (R1) with DVDFab Decrypter to rip, Pgcedit to remove unwanted titles, and DVD-RB to re-encode and it worked fine.
