dear friends, i will render my animations as wmv-hd format. but i'm not sure about fps standards. sizes are ok. 1920x1080 or 1280x720 pix. but when i looked some wmv-hd clips, they have many different fps standards. i saw 23fps, 24fps, 25fps, 30fps. which fps prefered ?
im thinking for my animation clip1280x720pix-30fps.

If we talk about "real" hd standards, 720p is usually 59.94 or 60 fps in America and should be 50 fps in Europe. If you are afraid of such high frame rates, do your stuff at 1920x1080 @ 30 fps.

Yeah output format should be dictated by intent. Which could unfortunatly mean lots of rendering. And if you are raytracing that is a big ouch! Unless you have a nice professional software package and render farm. :p Can't wait to hear from you in 2007 when the first clip is done. J/K I would say that since this is most likely for internet distribution why not go for 780p or so at 24 fps. The resulting animation could be telecined nicely for 29.97/30fps or sped up a bit for 25fps. Not to mention that full HD is still more than many PC etc can handle. Especially WMV-HD. I have had better luck running my HD resolution renders as MP4 through VLC. WMV-HD didn't do so good on my PC even in WMP. Kinda choppy.
Just out of curiosity what package are you using? I would have to guess Maya or Cinema 4D. Those pics were very ummmmm abstract. But there was some interesting textures and lighting.

thank you, when i checked microsoft advertisement hd's they are 1280x720x24fps. and looking good. but i worked 30fps. i tried one sample on 1280x720x30fps looking well. so i will go on this way. i used for creating my artworks, for modelling 3ds max and autocad, for rendering bryce 3d. but im worked to much optimised. i have standard p4 pc's. leaving to render and sleep : ) part by part. thanks again for all information.
