I couldn't find anyone with a similar problem, nor any mention of it at its homepage. This is what I'm getting occasionally and only with a few videos:

What version of Huffyuv are you using ? 2.1.1 ? ffdshow's ?
Yes, Huffyuv 2.1.1 is buggy. For example, I have a few testcases that make huffyuv crash. But frankly, huffyuv should never fail on real video.
Are you sure the problem is huffyuv ? Did you try another codec (Arithyuv (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=98042), Lagarith (http://lags.leetcode.net/codec.html), MSU (http://www.compression.ru/video/ls-codec/index_en.html), PicVideo MJPEG (http://www.pegasusimaging.com/picvideomjpeg.htm), uncompressed, xvid, mpeg2...) ?

Using 2.1.1, no FFDShow. I haven't tried another codec as of yet. I'm trying to capture this VHS I have and clean it up before putting it on DVD.

What Player do you use for playback ? And how are your settings in HuffYUV ?
I know this problem from Adobe Premiere 6.5 - the video looks like your screenshot if you try to open it.

This defect is hardcoded into the file, so opening it with VDub also shows this frame (and others) to exhibit this. As far as the settings, I'm just using the default settings.

You got the wrong version of Huffyuv, I've installed a wrong version and seen your green screen before.
Make sure it's "Huffyuv v2.1.1 - CCESP Patch v0.2.5", works perfect for me.
I hope lcld can have more time to improve Arithyuv and make it RGB so it can replace the Huffyuv completely.
