Would anyone please tell me what is the meaning of the "CBR",what is the meanigns of the parameters of "Reaction Delay Factor","Averaging period",and "Smoother".How to config these parameters? Thanks all!

Well, when this topic is created.....
I have read CBR section of Crustys FAQ many times, but have some doubts how these three settings are connected/work together.

AFAIK
RDF - keeps avg bitrate of default=16 frames constant. But what about huge differences between K/P/B frame sizes ? Does it lead to RDF pulsing ?
Or just made itself an idea about bitrate ?

Averaging factor = predicts avg Q for next frames acc. to last default=100 frames. What is the formula to change the prediction ?

Smoothing = sum of size differences of last default=100 frames according to CBR. Does not do anything similar RDF ?

How is used RDF and Smoothing value to change Q values from the one suggested by Averaging factor. ?

Are available any formulas ?

What settings to use to have CBR/CQ like encoding ?

Seems high RDF pushed 1pass encoding to CQ one with less accurate target size estimation. I use RDF 48 and CBR=0.99 of suggested CBR and it fits to my CD. I should maybe raise Average facor too.

(I was forced to do many 1pass 1CD encodings on this Xmas because of many TV captures, encoding slower then capturing and low disk space)
