I am having problems converting the DVD movie Madagascar to Divx. After I rip the movie there are green lines throughout the movie from time to time. When I convert the movie to Divx the horizontal green lines are still there. Does anyone have an idea how to get rid of these lines. Thanks

This might be a small bug that we're currently fixing in the decoder. Try turning off "Reduce CPU Spikes" in the decoder configuration tool on your Start menu.

Hi!
After I rip the movie there are green lines throughout the movie from time to time. When I convert the movie to Divx the horizontal green lines are still there.If I understand correctly, the green lines appear in your ripped-to-hard drive DVD "package", BEFORE you convert to DivX - in which case, it has nothing to do with any version of DivX. If this is so:

1) Does your purchased DVD show these green lines, when you play it on your PC?

2) What software and procedures did you use to rip your purchased DVD?

When I purchased the DVD, it did not show the lines during playback. The lines only shows after i've ripped it with DVDdecrypter. When i preview it in Gknot i see the lines in certain scenes.

At the risk of sounding like I'm nitpicking, I'll ask you if you played the original, specifically, on your PC? I'm asking because the only reason I can see the DVD Decrypter rip displaying these green lines is if the original DVD plays that way (on your PC)...

One other DISTANT possibility would be that something was causing electrical interference at the time of the rip.

You might want to try a new rip, to see if the same problem occurs...

Actually, that DVD has some fairly recent copy protection that may do that :) Guess it's not a DivX issue afterall.

No, the "RipGuard" copy protection used on the "Madagascar" DVD does not cause green lines to appear on a successful rip...

@jayexel

After ripping the FULL DVD using DVD Decrypter v.3.5.4, you should load the ripped DVD "package" into VOBBlanker and press the "Process" button (This will take only a few minutes). Then see if you have the same problem with the green lines...
