Sorry, it's quite a newb question, and I've done some reading but can't find an answer.
I've been using GK with xvid for a while, and lately have been using x264 with it. I've been encoding some digital tv recordings, and with the shorter ones (30 mins or so) I need to adjust the audio delay by around +250ms. But with the longer recodings, the audio seems to be in sync until towards the last quarter of the avi.
I never saw this problem with xvid, so is there something different about how x264 video is muxed into an avi? How can I start to solve this?

PS. The source MPEGs are 25FPS PAL, and the is audio MP2. Also, I use the latest builds from http://x264.nl/ and get them on a regular basis.
