Digital cameras

Hi,Not sure if this is the correct forum for this subject.
So I hope someone can help me,my daughter has just purchased a "digital camera" and we have heard of a program that enables us to shrink the pics to put them into a computer file (thumbnails comes to mind) Can anyone please help as we are desperate. Ty Bob K.

You may be thinking of Microsoft PowerPoint - with it you can make a slideshow with music, retaining much of the original quality of the pictures with a very small file size.

Irfanview (free, brilliant graphics tool) makes html pages of linked thumbnails (linked to big pix, like a gallery).
