I have been making AAC encodes using the default settings in FAAC and I noticed that the audio is garbled during playback through ffdshow. I was able to fix the problem by going into the ffdshow audio decoder configuration and changing the AAC decoder from libfaad2 to realaac. What is realaac and why doesn't libfaad2 work?

I was just about to post about garbled audio and then read this thread. Thanks for the tip, changed to realaac and it plays back fine.
Does libfaad2 perhaps not support the HE profile? Here's my command line, does it look ok?...
BeSweet.exe -core( -input E:\STAR_WARS_EPISODE_I\Phantom T01 3_2ch 448Kbps DELAY 0ms.ac3 -output E:\STAR_WARS_EPISODE_I\Phantom T01 3_2ch 448Kbps DELAY 0ms.mp4 -logfile E:\STAR_WARS_EPISODE_I\Phantom T01 3_2ch 448Kbps DELAY 0ms.besweet.log ) -azid( -c normal ) -bsn( -6chnew -cbr 224 -codecquality_high -aacprofile_he ) -ota( -g max )
Using latest BeSweet beta and Nero 6.6 dll's.

I don't think I was using the HE profile. The command line I am using is as follows (using FAAC version 1.24.1):
avs2wav filter.avs - | faac -o audio.mp4 -
