I don't have audio, even if I set "Line in" in sound recorder control.

I'm using a Pinnacle PCTV Pro and a Creative Soundblaster Live! 24bit

What could the problem be due?

Hello, and welcome to the forum.

We don't have a lot of information from you.

f you are using the card's tuner, you need to run a patch cord between the capture card's audio out and your sound card's line in.

If you are using Composite or S-Video in, you can either run your audio directly to your soundcard, or pass the audio thru the patch cord.

Thanks for your answer.

I'm using S-Video.

I connected My PCTV card to my sound card with a external sound cable.

What patch is that?

"Patch cord" = small audio cord (200-300mm) used to connect between capture and sound card. :)

If I understood, you have this in use.

How is sound getting from your A/V device (VCR, etc.) to the capture card?

So I think I'm using a "Patch Cord".

I connect my videocamera via s-video to the PCTV card, then I link the PCTV to the sound card with that "Patch cord".

Do I need to do anything else?

The S-video connection does NOT carry sound. It is video only.

You will need to either connect your sound to the PCTV card -- which will then use the patch cable in pass-thru -- or you will need to connect the sound to your soundcard directly.

I can have audio with S-video now.. conecting my video camera directly to the sound card. But if I connect my videoplayer (that doesn't have s-video) to the tv card, I still don't have sound.

I'll try again:

THE S-VIDEO CONNECTION DOES NOT CARRY ANY AUDIO. ONLY VIDEO.

If you want sound, you will have to make audio connections, either directly to the soundcard, or indirectly through your capture card.

Re-reading this, it looks like you've given me misinformation. FIrst, you wrote:I'm using S-Video.Then later you wrote:But if I connect my videoplayer (that doesn't have s-video) to the tv card, I still don't have sound. If that connection is composite video (RCA connector), it doesn't carry sound either.

If that connection is RF (Coax), then it does carry sound, and the tuner sends the sound back out through the patch cord to your soundcard. If you do not have the patch cord in the correct socket on the capture card, you will not have sound.
