MeGUI is great and feature packed, but I'd love to have access to these features from within other FVW programs such as virtualdub or Nero for ease of editing/moviemaking/quick segment encoding.

I understand that x264's VFW is a GUI, and as such, options can be added to support the recent developments (Level 7 RDO, B-RDO, P-skip, GOP size, maybe even CQM selection) by means of checkboxes, another item in the dropdown menu, another insertion field for GOP, etc.

Are there any plans for this happening any time soon?

why not export as lossless during editing and then, as a final step, encode with x264 CLI or MeGUI?

That's what I've been doing so far ;)
It's pretty hectic for a few reasons tho:
1. All of my longer clips (because there are so many I have to do) result in huge files, and I have a tiny harddrive (80GB)
2. I must have the end file in AVI so I can easily cut-n-paste again ;)
3. Lots of files, lots of different locations (each project has a different folder somewhere), lots of different settings,... results? Lots of extra steps with MeGUI! :D

this has been discussed already over and over again, and has been answered already over and over again
