Hello, I often have to append a "Not for sale or for rent" or something to some video I get.
A lot of things can make that 2 segments cannot be appended, color deph, frame rate (even, sometimes 23.97600xxxxx vs 23.97600yyyyy), codec used, option used while encoding (like B-Frame), sound samplerate, etc...
I would like to know how to know and do everything I need to know and do about a sample of video to make an appendable segment for it.
Thx.

You cannot make a universally appendable segment which can be appended to every form of video. While some limitations like differing framerate etc can be resolved without re-encoding, other limitations like differing resolutions cannot be resolved without re-encoding either of the to-be-joined parts.
Moreover keep in mind that even if you do add a segment, it can be easily cut off by someone else using tools like VirtualDubMoD. What about adding a watermark text or logo? Try searching the forum for it. There are plenty of threads on it.

That's not it, I don't want to make a universally appendable segment.
