I keep memory out of bounds error even if I do nothing more than open it up and shut it down. At end of processing it crashes.. on exit of program it crashes. Where can I find older version of VirtdubMod so I can see if it will still work for me this latest version is crap it seems with winxp sp2.

What version number is this that you're trying to use?

Latest version.. 1.5.10.2 and it seems all the 1.5 versions crash. The only version that I could get not to crash is 1.4.10 but it still crashes on the finishing of the encoding. So it seems I am at an impass.. Xvid binary the latest koepi version is what I am trying to use for encoding. Going to be very disappointed if I have to use Nero to encode this video since I won't be able to use the various filters.

I am using that same version, running under WinXP SP2 - and it certainly doesn't crash just from opening it. Perhaps you haven't downloaded or installed all required files/components?

I downloaded the all inclusive zip version. Extracted it to it's own windows. Without even loading a file just opening it and closing it I get a out of bounds memory error. Only codecs installed..

xvid
x264
haali media splitter
core vorbis
vob sub
avisynth 2.5

Is their any alternatives to virtdubmod or virtdub that will still let me encode with my filters?

you might want to run memtestx86

Avisynth + Graphedit is another way,...

Ok so graphedit can do the same thing as virtdub than. Thanks for that tip.. Yeah I have run memtest no issues there.

No, graphedit can't do the same thing, but with the combination of Avisynth and graphedit nearly all the features of Virtual Dub should be covered,... Though graphedit is more complicated regarding usage. ;)

Does emptying AviSynth plugin folder help (assuming you have it installed)?

Wilbert yep that helped with crashing on exit. Before I would open it than close it and it would crash. So I replaced filters one at a time and got them replaced with non-corrupt or possibly older ones that worked before. It now also allows it to finish writing the file before it crashes now also.

Discovered the crash now is when it starts the next job on the job control so it seems to be an issue with job control if I do each pass seperately now no crashing. Put it in job control to automate the task than it crashes just as it goes to start the next job.

The 1.5.4.1 seems more robust than the 1.5.10.x; Len0x (Agk developper) still bundle that rev for his tool. You may want to (re)give it a try.

Ok I have tried the older version it seems to be crashing with the job control. What script or process does job control use that might cause crashing? So that I might be able to track down the issue.

Sorry for that.

No rabbit from the hat here but when I cannot finish an encode because VDM unexpectingly quits, I use AR Calculator feeding it with my AGK/VDM movie avs.
