Hi,
i search a tool, which with help i can simply split mpeg2 streams(ready muxed SVCD).
What i wont from the software, only split the file e.g. into 2 parts(maybe with a little time rewind on the second file).
All what i want todo ist inster filename, count of parts.
At this time i use DVTool, but it don't cut very well and on the second file the first seconds are corrupt.
Thanks for help.

Thanks for all your answers.
I tried TMPEG several times(Version 12d) but it didn't running.
I can do anything, but i don't get any picture in the previewbox.
Is this a problem of the old version?
The new version has a limitation in the mpeg2 encoder(only running 20 days or so...), is this used by the cutter?
Or can i cut files after this time also?

hi
don`t know if the time limition have something to do with
the cutter-function... buy the full version ;)
but i sometimes didn`t get a picture too in the preview
when i did a xsvcd for example
but the splitting function always worked
maybe some formats tmpeg can`t preview
don`t know
maybe you should try another cutter..

The best and the fastest is Mpack Pro. (Shareware) fully working apart from a nag screen. The only problem it has, it stops dead when splitting a file in 3 sections. I've gone around this by splitting in six files and burning two files per CD.
BBmpeg does not work for me, after splitting the files and burn they wont play in my DVD player even though they play in the computer?!?!
Hope this helps
Ciao.
P.S. Especially good for SVCD

Thanks for this tip, in the last days i have no time do try anything.
I played a little bit with the size for one cd(700mb). It seems that i can burn 790MB to it(on a RW medium). I friend has success with 815MB.
I tried bbmpeg to cut and it is working fine for me. bbmpeg version 1.24b18.
I don't tried it on my dvd-player if all is ok.
At first now i will try to author my svcd with menu, title and a little mpeg-stream wich says change the cd(it will play repeatly).
If this all works fine for me i can see if the mpegstream cut with bbmeg is working fine.

There is XMuxer program at http://www.elecard.com/download/index.shtml
It's free. It can demux any MPEG2/1/transport/PVA/DVB to it's elementary streams and multiplex it back to program stream, if you want.

thanks all for their helpful replies..
i am running winxp on a amd athalon..
problem is i can't seem to efficiently cut it.
i'm running latest version of tmpengc and when i try to use mpeg tools to cut it video doesn't display and begin and end brakets are greyed out. so i tried
avi2mpg2
only problme is EVERY time i try to open up the mpg file i want to cut the program closes. no error messages..
can anyone suggest an efficient program to edit an mpeg without unpacking it?
thank you for your help!
