Hi all,

I've got a bunch of .mp2 files (demuxed from video) that need to have the left and right channels swapped. Despite forum searching and attempts with various audio tools, the best solution I have found is to decode mp2 to wav (besweet), swap the channels (wavewizard), then re-encode to mp2 or another format (various progs). Can anyone point me to a better, faster solution? Does besweet have a channel flip-flop switch that I'm just not seeing?

Thanks in advance,
GoldDragon

Hi!
These two steps can be reduced to one by using GoldWave to swap the channels and resave as .WAV or .MP3 (or many other formats, but not to .MP2)...

Hello Setarip,

Thanks for the tip. I probably should have mentioned before that I could use Adobe Audition to script/automate the whole process, but it's .mp2 support is dependent upon a totally un-optimised 3rd party filter that is interminably sloooowwww.....

My hope is to find a solution that can avoid re-encoding completely. Might you know of any solutions along these lines?

Thanks again,
GoldDragon

If I did, I would have posted that instead of my GoldWave-related suggestion ;>}

If .MP3 output is acceptable for your purpose, I think you'll find that the GoldWave (which includes batch conversion capability) conversions from .MP2 to .MP3 are quite fast...
