It's been over a year now since AVSEdit was last updated, I was just wondering whether there were any CVS builds or whether development of it has been discontinued.

I'm busy developing StaxRip. Too bad nobody else wants to maintain it. Fact is the SharpDevelop team has finally worked on the text editor component. I guess they had to because anybody tested #D 2.0 (http://build.sharpdevelop.net/BuildArtefacts/) already will know it's gonna kick a$$.

So basically it's like XviD in that it has had no developers willing or able to update the program?

I've just reinstalled Windows on my computer. After installing .net Framework 2.0 I tried reinstalling AVSEdit. The install screen told me to install .net Framework 1.1 before proceding. I'm sure I can just uninstall 2.0 and reinstall 1.1, but 2.0 is supposed to be backward compatible with 1.1. Is there a better way around this?

Mike.

Many apps need the actual 1.1 instead of 2.0, for some now deprecated apis and such. But they can coexist peacefully, there's no reason to uninstall 2.
