I took the Movied Bewitched and ripped it using the latest version of AnyDVD and DVDD in the IFO mode.
I used autoGK to make a DIVX out of it, but found the audio to be out of sync; A full minute out of sync.
I checked the VOBs that DVDD made and they audio in these is in sync.
I tried the same file in DrDivx and it also had sync problem.
I tired the same files in MPEG Mediator and it did NOT have an audio sync problem.
I also tried the same files in Nero Digital and it did NOT have an audio sync problem.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hi,
If you are using the latest AGK release (2.25 or hot fix 2.26) it seems related to new parametering in lame 3.97 beta
Suggestions:
1/ uninstall and reinstall the AGK 2.20
2/ or re-use the lame 3.96 (from the 2.20 package) in the installed 2.25
3/ or demux and remux audio with VdubMod
Thanks to let us know if one of these solutions worked ;)

I am using 2.26, but I just upgraded thinking it might fix my problem. I had the same problem with 2.20.

The is due to using anydvd with dvd decrypter. I had this exact same problem with this movie trying to rip with that method.
It's not autogk's fault. Just use dvddecrypter with the psl2 file and no anydvd.
UD.

It's available on forums, or you can make it yourself by following this guide. (http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=56831)

or use dvdfabdecrypter(free), Autogk will acept its output and DVDFD gets updated to deal with new copy protections and DVDd doesnt.

This audio synch problem happens with Arcoos protected DVDs. I think bad cells inserted in vob files cause this type of issue.

:(This issue is easily corrected after the encode process using NanDub.

I would not say it is easy at all! Takes at lest 30 minutes of work. (5 attempts to get the time right; 6 minutes each)
It seems to me that someone should make a utility that actually plays the DVD file like PowerDVD or WinDVD but instead of displaying the movie make a noncompressed AVI out of it. Then the audio would be in sync and we could run it through other programs to recompress it. This way if it plays correctly on your computer you can capture it. I am not a "real" expert but this idea of splitting the movie into audio and video and then try to rejoin them is problematic.
BTW: Nero Digital processed these movies perfectly.

If Nero Digital does it right, that would suggest AGK's INF parsing isn't working propperly in some exceptional cases.

If you had ripped it in "File" mode and then used VOBBlanker (Just select the proper .IFO and click on "Process") you would have totally eliminated the synchronization problem.

If you're actually willing to do this in realtime, this already exists. If you have a videocard with Video-in capture ability that can work with an older version of the "ASUS Live" capture software (ignores Macrovision), you could play the original DVD on a standalone DVD player connected (either directly or indirectly) to to your videocard and capture the movie in realtime.
Also, as far as I know, this problem only occurs with "ARccOS" and "RipGuard" copy-protected DVDs - and for those few instances, as you've already discovered, MPEG Mediator maintains synchronization...

It's kinda a complex subject but all-in-one encoders like AGK do, in fact, try to do the equivalent of "reading" a DVD's audio and video and outputting it to a file, then do the 'best possible' 2 pass MPEG4/MP3/AC3/AVI enode on that. It seems PowerDVD/WinDVD with their built in decryption and a/v rendering routines do a better job than AGK + five or six disperate single-function beta software package, which isn't surprising when you consider how much money and how many staff the big software houses have at their disposal.
Doing brute force capture, the ultimate anti-anti-priacy solution (if you can see it, you can copy it) will result in reduced quality due to digital-to-analogue-back-to-digital conversion, especially if it's through composite video. Plus surround sound isn't an option unless you can plug in your DVD players's TOS or coaxial digial sound output into your computer and record that. It's a very ugly solution. Foolproof but ugly.
