AAC with ID3 Tags

Hi,

Does anyone know how to play AAC files with ID3 Tags with mplayer2 or wmplayer (and not WinAMP, MPlayer or Media Player Classic)? BTW, how is it possible, that www.free-codecs.com (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/CoreAAC_Directshow_filter.htm) holds a newer version of CoreAAC than the official homepage (http://corecodec.org/projects/coreaac) itself?

i doubt its spec compliant to place id3 tags on .aac

use tags in .mp4

The on demand files at www.tuner2.com are stored this way. Although I think they are meant to be streamed with WinAMP. What could be the reason they are doing that? Also, WinAMP, MPC and MPlayer play these files, even though they have the ID3 tags.

well just because people use and player support this doesnt mean its spec compliant
