still no new information about the Encoding part tough
somehow the compression.ru website seems to be down, for today the release of the H.264 comparsion was anounced, also at least ATI's Encoder seems to have been on the MSU Engineers comparsion list.

ehrrr... 5."13"? 5.12 were out (i think) yesterday... or 2 days ago, and ATi releases 1 driver/month...

I wonder if these drivers will support the HDTV Wonder cards. Now that would quite sweet.

if your Vcard has Avivo tech then these new drivers will work on it. if it doesnt then they wont.

so yes X1*00 Vcards seem to be a given.
