i am wondering whether i am the only one getting this:

i am getting a partly jumpy picture whenever i try to play a stream with b-frames in qt7

i tried disabling every feature, except setting 1 b-frame, in x264 and its still jumpy (jumpy meaning sometimes frames seem to jump back and forward). i also get such jumps with streams encoded with qt7
disabling b-frames removes these jumps

i guess thats a timestamp problem. i noticed that mp4creator and mp4box, being two different tools, produce the same timestamps, but different ones than qt7.
maybe there is a bug in qt7 making it expect wrong b-frame timestamps?

anyways anyone getting these jumps too?

I've been using 2 b-frames (x264 and MP4Box) and I have not experienced this issue. I have not tried the QT encoder itself as it's intollerably slow. Strange.

ok, seems i cant do things without reinstalling QT.
Yes, i experience the same behaviour with more than 1 b-frame.
I modified the QuickTime profile accordingly to the new discovered settings.

so one person doesnt get jumpiness with 2 b-frames and one does

i myself get jumpiness with 1 b-frame too, but the others dont

now what? :D

I have not tried the QT encoder itself as it's intollerably slow.qt's encoder is simply a joke.
i get like 0.3fps encoding speed here (and that altough it doesnt use cabac, doesnt use multiple references, only uses 1 b-frame aso...)
