View Full Version : MANY codecs not showing up in VdubMod/Nandub

I'm doing my best to follow the guide for capturing from an analog source (eventually converting to DVD files) from a VHS tape I have. I want to use Huffyuv (is 2.2.0 ok to use, since the guide mentions a patch for a previous version?) and have installed it. It shows up in my device manager video codecs section but that as well as many other codecs (including Divx 6.0.3) do not show up once I enter capture mode in VDubMod or Nandub. I did a search for this but couldn't find anything.

Feel free to direct me to this topic if it has already been mentioned. I didn't want to have to post on this initially. Thanks for any help, and apologies for my ignorance.

*Sorry: Found out Huffyuv will only show up if YUY2 is selected as the format.

Perhaps this is the problem?

Hmm, that's nice to know about, but is not the problem here. I didn't know that codecs appear as valid compressors only when the input format to them is compatible. It sure would be nice to see that somewhere in the VirtualDub documentation!
