Since i installed the new version i have a strange a problem . During encoding i have no problem but when it comes to 99.9% the program crashes.
Either i put to make an iso or not the result is the same. I tried several movies + the movies were ripped by both ways: dvddecrypter and dvdfab but the result the same.

Have you tried without DVDFab ? - just to eliminate it as a possible cause ?

i have tried it but no luck at all. This problem started since i installed the new pro version...settings remain the same .....
If it was an encoding problem i suppose the program would crash earlier and not at 99.9%.
Any ideas ?

@PGM:
DVD ReBuilder V1.03 Pro is not free, if you paid for that, you should ask them for a solution or get the money back, I mean, if the software is not working properly... :confused: Try to use the free version (0.96) and see what happend.

@castellanos
Of course it's possible you might be ignoring the fact that it works correctly on several thousand other computers. Perhaps in the future I should start writing special versions of the software for each individual user based upon their individual system problems? That's a lot to ask for a small donation, don't you think?
@PGM
The error you are getting is a Microsoft error -- which is always a good indicator the problem is on your system rather than DVD-RB. A guess might be that you are overclocking the FSB of your processor and the memory addresses in the higher ranges are failing as a result.

@castellanos
Huh ? Payed software ?????
I already donated in the earlier days and that was $10,-.
For such a piece of usefull software, I don't consider this as a payment.
I use it with great results, it's THE BEST solution in backing up youre DVD's.
Of course there are problems. Even expensive software isn't bug-free. That's almost impossible. Remember Windows 3.11 ???
That was a major disaster and costed a bit more as $10.......
Even I will donate again as soon as my Multiple Angle DVD's are ok. I don't worry about minor bugs, as they always be there. I have 3 computers and DVD-RB runs just fine in 99.9% of the cases on all of them and even on my laptop, which is fairly useless because of the time the encoders need.
Don't forget there just one man behind it, and no big software company....
And even a 100$ would I consider a bargain on this one, as all upgrades uptill now are free of charge.......
If you make 1 backup whith this tool, it has earned itself already back !
So what are you complaining about ???
Complain to CCE as they ask about $2000 for an encoder that's not even 2 MB in size.....
@PGM
As JDOBBS already told, DO NOT OVERCLOCK !
CCE is especially sensitive to overclocking. I have an ASUS based system and I tested it with different BURN-IN and SYSTEM CHECK tools over night, and the result repostred was: STABLE SYSTEM !!
Then I ran CCE and saw it crashing and going into nowhere-land.
The system was tested and just a little bit overclocked. All things were running OK even die hard system check programs.....
But CCE wasn't !
Returning to default settings solves these problems.
Be aware that some motherboards default setting even results in OVERCLOCKING !!!!
So look in youre manual of the mainboard and if CCE still is hanging or crashing or even stops encoding and let DVD-RB starts with the next segment as if there was no problem, set all settings to their safest values !!
This might result in a few % less speed, but what is speed without stability ?
And also, as mentioned many times, the source should be ok.
So when you encounter problems:
- Do clean ripping (with DVD-DECRYPTOR)
- NOT do any proccessing !!!
- Run it through DVD-RB-PRO, the 1.03 version is stable !
Try not to use DVDFAB as it can hide read-errors !
If you get read-errors with DVD-DECRYPTER, changes are you deal with a 'copy protected' disc.
Copy protected disc can be handled by many tools (even DVD-DECRYTER to a certain extend) but in the result files there are undefined sectors that are NOT dvd-conmpliant and should be removed with care.
These sectors are often called 'dummy' sectors, but they contain undefined material that can hurt the encoders and/or DBD-RB as these expect strict DVD-compliant stuff. I say CAN not WILL, as many people find these DVD's with dummy sectors doing just fine. However I have had troubles with them, making me removing these dummy-sectors.
This is another story however. I thing on youre system CCE is not running stable. Try antoher encoder instead or try default NON-OVERCLOCKED settings.
If another encoder isn't causing problems, reinstall CCE and try again.
If CCE is still a problem, check the hardware of youre system.

@apfraats: :goodpost:
jdobbs, maybe you should secretly change the CPU clock to some lower value while DVDRB is running :devil:

I totally agree with you.
But it's not what I wanted to say, may be I didn't say it corectly (And please, forgive me if this is a little bit out of topic):
First of all the reputation of DVD-Rebuilder is out of question, it's an exelent program and I use it myself (0.96) but something is clear: Freeware and Payware (or obligatory donation) it's not the same. When you get money for something (no matter if 1 or 10.000 $ or €) you are selling... and for that you must be responsable... and of course, not fully responsable as the lay says in many countries.
When you buy a program, what ever cost, you tried at home. If it work, very good, if it not, then something must happen... in this case could be million things, the programer is not guilty as well as the customer... in that case, you can give the product back and buy something else or get the money back... at least here in Germany it is like that, as well as many countries.
I think this answer apfraats as well.
Greetings! ;)

It's probably not the overclocking so much as the CPU temperature. During the encoding the CPU is 100% busy for several hours and the heat will build up. When I monitor the CPU & system temp on my Epox board (AMD 2400+) I see it creep up a few degrees when the encoding starts.
I discovered a dust problem in my CPU fan/heatsink when CCE starting crashing 30 minutes into a rebuild.

rayvt,
once ther was a tool called VCOOL for AMD CPUs. It could throttle the CPU when a certain temperature threshold was exceeded. I use it with my Athlon 900, but don't know if something similar exists for newer models. Maybe CPUcool could help you.
castellanos,
in Germany there should be at least some kind of proof that the error is in the software and not in your system. I really doubt anyone would believe in a software error when hundreds of installations run flawlessly and only yours crashes. You would make yourself a bit ridiculous!
Edit: Such stupid claims only lead to the stop of the development of software by individuals who cannot pay a horde of pettifogging lawyers

PGM,
if you have AMD CPUs,see how i use it.
running now RB free(HC encoder),vcool,internet(lots of pages oppened):
NB Cool bit (vcool option) checked
cpu duron 1.8 = 39C...without vcool = 43C
MB Soyo(old,i forgot model) = 28C... without vcool = 32C
don't use iddle loop option when encoding,burning or using heavy programs.
vcool : http://mpet.freeservers.com/VCool_Mirror.html
more informations: http://www.benchtest.com/vcool.html
check you memory card and don't(never)overclock anything using cce.

Please :readrule: specially N°4... I am not offending anyone here.
And if you do not believe me, just go to MediaMarkt and see what happen, it is not the first time I or anyone else return a software...

Greetings! ;) Bottom line: If PGM decided he was unsatisfied and wanted to get a refund that would remove him from the VIP list and stop receiving any further updates... that would be something that would be discussed between him and me. It is, quite frankly, none of your business.

as a side note, the 10 bucks (pre sale) was not a purchase, it was a donation for development. so the issue is moot

First of all , i want to apologize for the late reply. The whole problem solved by reducing the FSB. The program works perfect ! keep up the good work jdobbs. :)
