Will it be possible to embed your player in IE, Firefox, etc... ?
Thanks,

Razorholts, that's already been done (although it's not perfect just yet - CES preview). Go here for the ActiveX TCPMP: http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/tcpmpx/index.htm
While we're still on the subject... Here is a post I put on the AVC plugin thread (that probably shouldn't really have been there):
@ Picard (or Betaboy, or whoever can fix this): I was messing around with the ActiveX player and found a small bug. One of the JPEG images I tried to view wasn't working - a dialog pops up that says: ! 1196444237 . I click O.K. and it goes away, but I can't see my picture. The picture displays perfectly in "Windows Picture and FAX viewer" though. I'll see if I can upload somewhere if you would like...
By the way, just as a reminder, the ActiveX site crashes my browser every time I close it or go to another page. Please fix this! I don't like my browser crashing.
Good luck with this problem,
GhengisKhan

so yeah... am I blind or is there no way to get the seek bar in full screen mode?
BetaBoy

goto options an uncheck the 'autohide' bar. We are adding a right click menu to plug-in and to many of the things that will be available in the options. This is also being done so... for example.... you have a 'Matroska Video' with multiple streams... you can select the correct stream needed.
Our goal with this plugin is nothing short of making the most advanced web browser 'media player' plugin available today.
What is coming next taking this plugin and making it a NEXT-GEN media player that loads in the web browser and can 'go with you' as you browse the web. I will inform everyone more details on this soon. In the meantime... we will finish phase one of this within the next two weeks, i'll post an announcement about it and then look for some bug fixes before we go live with it.

GK... is the JPEG you are opening progressive? If so the M/JPEG decoder in TCPMP doesn't support those atm :(
I'll ping picard on adding it.

goto options an uncheck the 'autohide' bar.
was that answer to my question? if so I can't find anything neither in Options nor in Options->Settings of TCMPM.
and btw, what plugin are you talking about? isn't TCPMP a stand alone player?
BetaBoy
16th January 2006, 00:24
Lexor... sorry... I thought you were talking about TCPMPx. A new version of TCPMP for windows is underway. It will be called 'The Core Professional Media Player' and will have the option you are talking about.

realy exciting especialy the media browser idea is something i missed for a long time in my browser all those video plugins that you won't need anymore to think about it is a real pleasure :)
Displaying all the Video/Audio content in a frame either on the top, bottom, right or left and a "Fullscreen Browse mode" that shows all the videos in fullscreen as selectable thumbnails if you hover over them in both modes they play a little preview of 10s (can be defined in the options) :) that would rock and i think is a very unique way and actually doesn't exist in that way as a browser plugin yet.

dunno if it's a known bug, but TCMPM treats .mpg files as folders. even if it doesn't support mpeg1 playback, it still shouldn't see mpg as a folder which you can go in to (but is empty).

Dont bother with any NSV content atm... we are reviewing the licensing terms and it looks like 'officially' we will not even support it. So its TBD.

Will TCPMP ever suport softsubs? At least .srt and vobsub. Or only with an external DirectShowFilter like VobSub.
I'd like also suport for drag'n'drop videos over it. Is ankward always go in "open...", etc.
And add more keyboard shortcuts, like page-up and page-down for toggle between chapters, and much more.
Despite this, TCPMP is my favourite media player right now! Very tiny, fast and simple.
PS: requests for Win32 version.
BetaBoy
20th February 2006, 01:02
yes for subs in our windows and Linux versions... but it will not be till a 1.xx version. drag n drop yes too... the Windows version you see now will be not be what you see in upcoming versions.

just noticed an update
version 0.72RC1
+general equalizer (volume normalization optional)

BetaBoy

yep... new revamped EQ... added QPEL and GMC to CoreASP.... but we still need to add Interlacing mode and Post Processing to call it complete and release our Directshow decoder for it.

new version (rc1) with new ffmpeg plugin causes blockiness on some xvid clips. no problems with previous version (and previous ffmpeg plugin)
for instance this one: http://www.megaupload.com/de/?d=833BKTWR (10mb, 720p)
It's a clip from Selur, if you need the XviD settings I'll ask him...
(I guess it's with qpel, gmc enabled)
CruNcher
23rd February 2006, 21:48
with rc1 every xvid clip should be playbacked with CoreASP first, did you removed mpeg4.plg to force libavcodec playback ?
yep it's definatley a CoreASP problem looks like a Buffer problem again :P on second playback everything is fine

Hello Core team, nice player and unbelievable speed for avc content. Bravo
I recently tried some clips from the NBA2006 All Star Weekend coded in avc 320X240 in .mp4 container (probably coded for playback with Sony PSP), and i can play them perfectly with ffdshow h264 decoder but not with TCPMP or CoreAVCdecoder.ax. I mean they dont play at all (sometimes only 16 first frames are played) or even crash TCPMP and MPC.

@Dethis
no playback problems with your sample and latest TCPMP here
With latest do you mean Tcpmp 0.72RC1(25or22/02/2006), avc.plg & aac.plg v.0.71h-09/01/2006 or 17/01/2006 (from Tcpmpx).
I tryied all of them and ..... no!! All (mentioned above) NBA clips take too much time to load and then they start auto-playing (i haven't checked the "Play at start") but only for 5-20 frames and suddenly go to the end of time.
I'm getting crazy now
** Of cource all is fine if i use the ffmpeg.plg instead of the avc.plg
Edit: OK Thanks to Betaboy i'm not getting crazy.
PS Betaboy if you need a longer clip just tell me.

Is there any way I could use Directsound output? My Wave Output is not working properly. So can't get any sound at all.
And I noticed one strange behaviour while typing this post is that, When TCPMP is running in background I cannot use the Space button on my keyboard to type. & as soon as I close TCPMP, it starts to work again! Try it! :D

DS output? No not atm. TCPMP does not use any DS framework. The space bar (I am assuming you are referring to windows) is a known bug and has been fixed internally but not released... it will be in CorePlayer 1.0.
