I have some questions regarding the sound processing unit on the new nForce based boards. Can someone with firsthand experience help clear these questions up.

1) What bitrate does it encode AC3 for output.
2) Can you use the AC3 output, and normal speaker output at the same time?
3) Does it have AC3-pass or does it mux it with current system stream. In other words could I play an MP3 and here it mixed with a AC3 stream playing.
4) Does it offer DSP before the AC3, or must I rely on my DD decoder.
5) Can it output digital pcm sound? 20 bit 96khz?

Thanks in advance.

Doesnt a sblive value 5.1 for 35bucks off pricewatch provide these features, last I heard right out of the card...

there's no consumer style card that ENcodes to AC3. However, all mags only test the system performance and not AC3 functionality of nforce boards... and they're in a tight supply... your best shot is to buy one and try for yourself I'm afraid.

well if I wasn't flat broke I would. maybe I should consider trying this new donation craze. I know if I was rich I'd sling my wealth around.
